I need help, something to alleviate this depression/brain fog. It's really bad. I'm withdrawing off benzos. All I eat really is brown rice w/coconut oil/cayenne/turmeric. and I juice about quart 1/2 a day with 5 tbspn superfood. 2-4 IF1 per day. You need to eat and or juice more. You can't expect your body to live & heal without enough fuel (any more than you can expect an engine to run without enough gasoline). At the very least, add several bowls of "Hippocrates Soup" (this is the soup Gerson used) and other veggies daily. Here's the receipe for the soup: http://www.treating-cancer-alternatively.com/Hippocrates-Soup.html
(from below) I'm down to 19mg of valium. making 1mg cuts every week. having at least 2 bowel movements a day. Professor Ashton (the world's foremost authority on benzodiazepines & withdrawal) say to make a 10% cut of the previous dose every two weeks. The absolute worst thing anybody can do when dealing with benzo withdrawal is cut their doses too fast and not give the GABA receptors time to heal & normalize between each dose (which causes the damaged and down-regulated GABA receptors to sustain more damage)...which results in having to take MORE to reach a point of stabilization. Cutting every week with no time for stabilizing between cuts (and not paying attention to the benzo experts) is not something I suggest, and it sounds like you're getting into serious 'trouble territory' doing it.
It's back n forth, something is really f***ing with my mind, i'm suicidal everyday, dark depression. I'm soooooooo HUNGRY. You definitely need to eat/juice more Just saw a kinesioligist he said I have at least 3 diff types of parasites/protzoa. plus the candida. Finding a truly natural & genuinely beneficial kinesiologist is like finding a pot of gold - possible, but not likely. and the parasites are messing with my GABA receptors on top of withdrawing. It's killin me, i can't live like this. Yep, I empathize completely...benzo hell IS hell...but IF you have the parasites/protozoa he diagnosed, you've likely had them all along and they're not messing with your GABA receptors any more than they did when you were on 30mg of Valium. What seems to be messing with your GABA receptors is over-rapid withdrawal (something that I warn everyone of, as does every benzo site on the 'net). Your poor GABA receptors have GOT to have more than a week to recover before you slam them with another dose cut.
He gave me some anti parasite meds, and morinda citrifolia pills? "meds" as in pharmaceutical meds? I hope not. And I hope if the anti-parasite "meds" are herbs, that they're organic. And are they going to cause candida die-off (which equals the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal, which plays hell with GABA receptors). And I seriously doubt he "gave" you anything except a much lighter wallet.
also gave me gabatone:
vit b6(pyridoxal 6 phosphate)
magnesium(mag succinate)
zinc(zinc glycinate)
manganese(manganese succinate)
L-taurine
valerian root extract 100mg
passion flower extract 100mg (extracts, as in "isolated/standardized" extracts? organic herbs? 100 mg capsules? 100 mg is like taking an 1/8th of an aspirin for a migraine)
L-theanine
lithium (lithium orotate)
Other ingredients: vegeterian capsule (HPMC, bamboo extract, veg cullolose, l-leucine, tricalcium phosphate.
This is supposed to help my body naturally produce gaba. Obviously he's not a "natural" kinesiologist. And if he says your natural body 'tested' that you need these unnatural chemicals & isolates, he's a scam artist - because no natural body needs or wants unnatural isolates & chemicals. Will they work to suppress your symptoms? I don't know. But it's been proven that a "lack of GABA" is NOT the problem with benzos, it's the fact that the GABA receptors themselves have been damaged & down-regulated. A few people have reported a bit of symptom relief by increasing GABA, but the majority report it's of no assistance whatsoever.
any ideas on where to go from here? I suggest going up a few mgs on the Valium and re-stabilizing, increasing your nutritional intake, and starting to withdraw again correctly (with a mimimum of two weeks between each dose cut) I also suggest (well, have suggested) that you increase your nutrition via bee pollen (the "perfect food" and fantastic source of protein & amino acids), make a high mineral veggie broth and have lots of it daily. Also, there are MANY people that say that Ashwagandha is very good with benzo withdrawal (and it has anti-depression benefits as well). Kava root is THE 'herbs of choice' to assist with GABA issues during benzo withdrawal. Of course, :::sad sigh::: if you want support & suggestions on using unnatural chemicals & isolates, you'll get more help and input in another/different forum.
I'm pretty strict with diet, but the depression makes me slip an have some canned lentil soup, or sometimes some chicken salad. I never slip too bad. You've always been a true warrior on your diet!!! You just need to eat & juice more (you'll feel SO much better when your body has enough fuel to run on :)
I'm down to 19mg of valium. making 1mg cuts every week. having at least 2 bowel movements a day. Good job on the bowel movements - keep up the good work.
help please. I sure hope you don't get into problems with parasite die-off (and reactions from whatever "meds" or supplements he gave you for killing parasites). Benzo withdrawal-hell is a very precarious place to be, and adding stress (via die-off or chemicals/supplements) is something I suggest being VERY careful doing (and not something I recommend unless someone is extremely stable and grounded). And speaking of 'grounded', I just finished the book "Earthing" (the information, double-blind studies and testimonies are totally phenomenal!) and I'm going to be strongly recommending to everyone to get the book and at least one of the bands or patches and an earthing cord (or if they can afford it, the bed pad), so they can 'ground' while they sleep. 15-30 minutes barefooting daily is good (but it's the equivalent of saying one is going to change to a healthy diet, and then just having one healthy snack a day). It's fantastic to barefoot 30 minutes a day, but it's not nearly enough! So definitely be sure you're barefoot at least 30 minutes daily, but also at least get the patches (or band/s) and a ground wire to connect them, that you can wear when you're sleeping (if you can't afford the sheet). Here's the link to the homepage http://earthing.com/ (and a book excerpt for downloading), click on "shop" on the top bar to see the main selection (and the the left-side links under 'products' to find the bands, patches & cords). I honestly think that you may see strong benefits if you do this every night. And getting an ankle band and a cord is extremely affordable!
I know how desperately you want to be off this drug, jboy. But cutting too fast is THE most likely way to do the kind of damage that will ensure you'll have to be on it even longer. PLEASE slow down and give your GABA receptors the time they need to recover between cuts. I've watched too many people 'crash & burn' by going to fast, and you are far too valuable to this world (and to this forum) to have it happen to you. I understand what depression is and what it feels like (it's taken a lot of years of my life)...so remember, the way you feel is just a symptom (just like a cancer tumor or a broken leg). It's real all right, we really do "feel" this way, but it's NOT really who you are...and it WILL go away!
You can do it, jboy...just slow down a bit, get yourself back on track and remember that cutting to fast is the fastest way to go too slow!
Blessings,
Unyquity
