I was just wondering if anyone ever gives you grief because of fasting. For me, I have to keep it a secret from most. My dad is good about accepting it, but he will also do his level best to sabotage it. If I knew how to work it and really desired a free chocolate cake, I'll I'd have to do is announce a fast to him and he'd deliver it within 24 hours, lol.
One of the things I try to do is be open about it because being preachy or encouraging others because I know it can be dangerous and it is "controversial". But some of the comments I have received when mentioning it in passing are nevertheless not short of astoundingly rude.
I have been told I have levels of "dumb and stupidity" over it, and that is not the way to go about health or overweight (wrong on both counts, and I'd do it even if a side effect of fasting was weight GAIN, lol). I have been told to "rest in peace" because I was "starving" myself. Technically you're not "starving" yourself until you are even at a normal weight.
This is what the excess FAT (fuel) is for.
Etc., etc. People act as if 24 hours without food will cause immediate death and if you don't eat within 3 days, death is imminent, etc.
The levels of ignorance and fear and almost brainwashing are just astounding to me. It's difficult because I'm trying to live a life of honesty and openness, at the same time, I am not preaching to anyone about it, it's just something I do for myself which has many benefits (I have a lot of
food intolerance issues as it is, and fasting helps relieve some of those issues as well as digestive problems, and healed type II diabetes which was in its beginning stages on me, my blood sugars are normal today. I cannot begin to stop singing its praises, and yet you'd think I was preaching evil about it.
Yet, the amount of vitriol I can receive is astounding over the issue as it is automatically linked with eating disorders or starvation to the point of death. Can anyone else relate?
