My oldest son has suffered from schizophrenia since early childhood. As an infant he had colic and could not tolerate formulas, the only thing he could drink was whole milk with poly vi sol vitamins. He was always a nervous baby and on thru his life was timid and scared a lot. I was also a very anxious mother. His nervousness turned to worse when he was 16, he had started having delusions and terrible paranoia. He ran away several times, well it's been a long long journey!
He was hospitalized 12 times, 3 of them were out of state when he would run away. I have had so so much trouble getting him to take medications in the past and that is why his symptoms would become so severe.
I always wanted to try vit. and minerals but heck, i couldn't even get him to take his one pill, so i knew well he would not take two or three. Many times we crushed his one pill and put it in a mc donalds hamburger. Just to keep him out of the hospital. Well to make a long story short, he will take meds now and sometimes too many.
The main thing I wanted to ask here is, he has lumps on his stomach and they stick out so that u can even see them thru his shirt. When I have questioned the Dr. they say it is just calcium deposits or fatty deposits and don't worry about it. I know that these should not be there. They are a little smaller than a golf ball. He also has long eye brows, wirey type, ridges on fingernails, scolocis, back hurts a lot. He is over weight because of the risperdal he takes and craves sodas and cigarettes all day.
What do u think the lumps are from, is it low in zinc, mag, not to mention the schizophrenia so severe. After reading the posts here i am convinced to see a nutritionist. I am in USA so here it's mostly medications. I would apprechiate all the info i can get, especially the lumps. thanks, Mary
