Hi Melanderso,
Have you been tested for PCOS? I only ask, because excess hair growth is a symptom of PCOS, and because since Mirena I have been getting ovarian cysts, and post Mirena they have continued. I also have really high testosterone, but because I am very slender, and do not personallly have the visible symptoms of PCOS (excess hair growth, skin discoloration, acne, weight gain) I feel like I have been brushed off by my doctors.
I am going in for another pelvic ultrasound this month, and this time am going to push for a reproductive endocrinologist to evaluate me. I feel like a lot of my post-mirena lingering problems (foggy brain, urinary issues, eye problems, fatigue) could be due to insulin resistance, which goes hand in glove with PCOS. Skinny girls do get PCOS too, even if we're not the classic PCOS patient.
If any of these symptoms resonates with you, or you've had high testosterone in hormone tests, maybe this could be what's going on?
