Japan Appears to Have Lost Battle - Number 2 Reactor Core Has Melted Through Containment Floor
by Mike Adams, Natural News Editor
(NaturalNews) The battle to save the Fukushima nuclear power plant now appears lost as the radioactive core from Reactor No. 2 has melted through the containment vessel and dropped into the concrete basement of the reactor structure. This is "raising fears of a major release of radiation at the site," reports The Guardian, which broke the story (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/201...).
A former General Electric nuclear expert told The Guardian that Japan appears to have "lost the race" to save the reactor.
The only feasible interpretation from this analysis is that radiation emissions from Fukushima could suddenly become much greater. It is also now obvious that the radioactive fallout from Fukushima will last for decades, if not centuries.

Knowing that Natural News has a tendency to overstate and/or slant at times, especially in the headlines, I checked out the Guardian article before posting the one from NN.
The mainstream coverup is in full play, just as it was with the Gulf Oil spill which will be sending people to early graves for many years. Before the news about the core meltdown breaching the floor of the containment vessel, the MSM was reporting that radiation levels were continuing to slowly decline. I guess they overlooked the sea water measurements which have now almost doubled from 1800 times the supposed safe limit (I don't believe there is a "safe" limit) to over 3200 times the "safe" level.
You know how it goes - if you can't control a disaster control the flow of information.
What next, a photo shoot of the first family of Japan swimming in waters off Japan a la the Obamas?
You can find some enlightening videos by an imminently qualified expert here:

I won't argue that NN uses some over-the-top headlings, but the NN article was based on an article by the Guardian. As the mainstream media downplays and ignores the danger and moves on to the created Libyan war as the next big topic, the situation in Japan has gotten worse and worse.
Here is what is known:
Over a week ago, Japanese officials confirmed two partial meltdowns and a possible third meltdown.
According to experts, the levels of radiation in nearby seawater which have reached 3,500 times safe levels can only be the result of a breech of one or more reactor containers.
Esteemed physicist Michio Kaku said two weeks ago that raging meltdowns are underway at three reactors and that failure to contain them will result in a catastrophe which will be far worse than Chernobyl.
I would say that Japan is in deep trouble and that there is plenty of reason for the rest of us to be concerned and take precautions "just in case". Three raging meltdowns at a facility with 8 reactors and several years worth of spent rods stored on the site surely is a potential nightmare scenario far worse than what has already happened.
The reach of nuclear fallout contamination has been amply demonstrated with 15 states now detecting low levels of radiation from isotopes unique to Fukushima and one state, Washington, reporting low level radiation from Fukushima in cows milk.
Sensationalized headlines or not, there is a lot of valuable information at NN and the content of the entire site should not be given a blanket-condemnation. I happen to be one of those Natural-assed News writers myself, and I stand by everything I have written there.
Like the certifiable nuts who were trying to warn us about Chernobyl?
Meanwhile, a million Chernobyl-caused deaths later, what about certified denialists?
I don't know about the "heat readings", but the radiation readings in the seawater have continued to surge and have now moved past 3,500 times the safe level, but yeah all is under control. Among the other good news:
* As the Wall Street Journal reports (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703806304576233221749626458.html), the U.S. government has now admitted that radiation is being found in milk from Washington state. They say it's "safe" to drink, of course. That's the U.S. government for you: Irradiated milk is safe, but raw milk is dangerous!
* The battle to save Fukushima is now over, as Japanese officials admit the nuclear power complex must now be abandoned and entombed (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1371793/Fukushima-nuclear-plant-entom...). The Dailymail published, "officials said it would mean switching off all power and abandoning attempts to keep the nuclear fuel rods cool." The problem with that, of course, is that there are already "three raging meltdowns" under way as Dr. Kaku explains (below). If you abandon efforts to cool the fuel rods, then an accelerated meltdown is "inevitable," says Dr. Kaku.
* Japanese nuclear experts now admit it will require 20 years to decommission the Fukushima nuclear reactors. (http://english.kyodonews.jp/news/2011/03/82090.html)
* Cesium-137 has now been found 25 miles from Fukushima at such dangerously high concentrations that they far exceed the threshold of land abandonment used by the Soviet Union following the Chernobyl catastrophe (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/31/world/asia/31japan.html?_r=1&partner=rs...). This is raising questions of whether the evacuation zone around Fukushima should now be expanded
