WG,
For the most part the bowels will shut down on a water-only fast, so colon-cleansing is considered by many to be a waste of time.
The bowels will not cause autointoxication while fasting either and will restart in their own good time with the correct breaking of a fast.....Dr Charles Page MD.
Saltwater flushes are also harmful to the body because you are not "Cleansing" Your Body--You're simply loading It with Sodium and sodium chloride to boot...........an inorganic mineral that is poisonous to the body.
A single teaspoon of salt used in the flush contains around 2300 mg of sodium. That's more than most doctors recommend you consume over the course of an entire day. But a salt water flush typically doesn't just use one teaspoon--most "flushers" recommend two spoonfuls or more. That means that you're asking your body to process--in a relatively short span of time--more than twice as much sodium as you would normally eat in every meal of your day combined.
The diarrhea you experience as a result of a salt water flush isn't evidence of your body's attempt to rid itself of parasites, pollutants and toxic buildup. Your body is simply trying to purge itself of excess sodium as quickly as possible.
SWF and Colon cleansing are a complete and utter waste of time.
You didn't answer my questions Wheatgrass about your reasons for undergoing three extended fasts and are still contemplating another as I understand it.
This is kind of bordering on the extreme and you may be doing more harm than good.
