Hope you're still checking back. I have a couple recommendations!
Dogs get cancer for a number of reasons, but here's a list of the most common (from my experience only; I'm not quoting a book or medical professional):
1: Radiation
-- If your dog is living right under alleyway power lines, around big screen TVs, near towers, generators, or power stations, lives indoors with rampant cellphone and wireless internet use, etc, he's susceptible to radiation damage. While this might not be the full cause of your family member's cancer, it's still a very stressful thing to be living around every day, especially when he's already susceptible or sick, or if he has a weak constitution from problematic birth. Try to relocate him or guard him in some way.
!!! One method of reducing radiation that might harm him would be to add a large handful (or two) of powdery
Bentonite (or another good type of) clay to his water. Also, using that same type of clay, you can put a protective layer on the arch of the door of his dog house, or be creative and find other uses.
!!! A very small amount of kelp tea can be added to his water and/or food, too -- and it well help to keep those organs that are under radiation stress healthy.
2: Bad or poisonous food or water
-- While it might never have been your intention to poison your family member, you might consider exactly what he is consuming. If he's eating a big-brand-name dog food, get rid of it. Grains are not suitable for dogs, and neither are very old ingredients. Also, I've seen the types of factories that make the synthetic vitamins that they add to pet food, and trust me when I say you wouldn't want that to be a part of his body. When considering food, think fresh and natural (not "natural," but truly natural). If you wouldn't eat it, don't feed it to him. Green vegetables are to some extent suitable for dogs, as they naturally eat grass and some other leaves and vegetable material, but cooked grains, syrup, sugar, and other such things are out of the question.
!!! When it comes to food, visit the butcher in your area and ask about their leftovers or cheap cuts, or even bulk-purchase that you can stuff in the freezers. Most often, you can find quality meat cuts and leftovers that humans would scoff at but dogs would love, and for only a little more money than commercial dog food. Try for both red meats and poultry -- and lamb is especially beneficial.
!!! If you feel the grass in your dog's living area is unsuitable for consumption because of chemical contamination, fertilizers, bad rain water (acid rain), etc, see if you can find wheat grass at a health food store. I've seen it selling for very cheap around where I live, but it differs hugely by area.
!!! If need be, buy plants like spinach leaf, parsley, cilantro, and other mild greens, and soak them together in hot (just steaming, only as hot as your finger can stand) water. Stir this mixture for a couple minutes, then leave it for a while. When it's done soaking, mash it up and add to the food (mix it good or he might get away with not eating it), or mash it in your choice of filter or blend to collect the juice (to add to water). Serve this to your family member once or twice a week for great health improvement.
!!! Over everything else, if your dog has cancer or might be getting cancer, be certain he has clean water (use a human-approved, food-grade water purifier if it's necessary, and never give a sick dog hose-water) and real (I stress the word real here) dog food. Remember that you can add
Bentonite or another good clay (like dolomite or even aztec healing clay (from Death Valley in the US) to trap and purify bad things in the water, which will then simply pass in your family member's stool and urine.
3: Drugs, stress, and surgery
-- I can't tell you how bad these things are for a dog. They might be strong, but their will is different than a human's. A human might choose to bear through a situation and neutralize its negative effects with positive thinking and outlook, followed by cleansing or good nutrition or herbal medicine, etc. A dog, however, just like many animals, will attempt to get away from the source of trouble before anything else. If he can't, stress takes him. In a pet dog's case, stress is almost always followed or accompanied by human drugs, or even surgery. These things will cause a degradation of their mental bodily health, and will aid in the formation of cancer and inhibit the dog's powerful healing abilities. If at all possible, learn from your dog and stay away from what >he< wants to stay away from. The only exceptions to this would be natural remedies that have proven to be safe and beneficial for your pet, unless of course it seems to cause him a lot of stress. (One example would be the strong smell of some herbs, like peppermint, which can disturb the noses of some types of dogs.)
!!! Human therapies are for humans. Stick with mild, natural therapies, like plants or substances (clay, for instance) that your dog might have naturally come across in the wild.
4: Neglect
-- And you know how to fix this one. Many humans have become desensitized to it, but emotions are very easily felt by animals. If you typically yell at your dog when he does something wrong, you might consider training him to respond to something at room volume that doesn't carry hateful emotions or anger. Above all, try to understand why they're doing something you might deem "bad" or "wrong." Maybe they don't understand why it should be wrong at all.
!!! Bad emotions and confused communication can cause a lot of stress for your dog. Try to bring more love into the relationship, and more calm. Diseases in animals can arise due to perceived outside stress alone -- keep that one in mind next time you yell at or punish your dog in an inappropriate, hateful, angry, or unloving way. (As an alternative, if I haven't been very clear, it might be a better idea to work on your human-to-animal communication skills -- for both of your peace of mind!)
Those are just some of the things that can cause such a disease in a dog. Another, which no one is going to investigate, is lack of sexua| satisfaction. This is a huge problem in concerns to "pets," but maybe you'll be able to find a way to remedy it. Some individual dogs are more needy when it comes to this, and some are fine enough with your loving scratches and praises... but if your dog is running about performing sexua| acts on objects or people, try to arrange a time when this would be okay, or a type of release where they wouldn't have to resort to satisfying themselves in an obscene or "improper" way. But whatever you do, never cause them to have to suppress their urges. A great deal of living energy and living purpose comes from sexuality and the trading of the various forms of love. People tend to forget this when an animal is concerned -- maybe because they haven't been loved well for so long that they've forgotten the feeling of being unloved or forgotten.
(That being said, if your dog has been surgically fixed, it would be best to provide extra attention and love -- maybe more play time or actual contact, whether by brushing or massaging (a lot of dogs love gentle muscle massages) or scratching. Best to avoid too many food treats, however, as the sharing of food to show love or gratitude is a little bit more a human thing than a dog thing. After all, they feel they've done their duty and their share of work for the family, in whatever way they have, and thus they believe they have a right to a share of the food.)
Hope this helped! I tried to cover as much as possible. Please don't take offense to anything I've said, because I wasn't targeting you or anyone else, and I don't intend to imply that you've been purposefully or really even accidentally mistreating your love one. Hope this information helps in the end!
((Oh, and if you're feeling courageous, try some herbal de-worming using low doses of things like
Wormwood and
Black-Walnut , maybe even a small amount of clove powder. Stay away from pills and extracts, and use freshly crushed or powdered ingredients. If anything comes out (from either side), do NOT touch it, and don't get too close. Clean whatever it is up by pouring bleach or hydrogen peroxide on it, incinerating it, or otherwise killing it thoroughly, and yourself and your dog after all is said and done. I'd predict that most cancerous dogs have worms and other parasites, and they'll have to come out before the animal gets better. But these
parasites can infect humans, too, and their eggs are typically small and clingy. So, no touching.))
