Jewel,
I don't have as much information as I wanted to have by now, but I want to post what I do have (and my thoughts) so you can have (at least) this additional information for consideration. But first, I have to 'rip the bandaid off' the one that's going to be a toughie:
I did a search on "Celiac Plexus Block" and as you can see by the title of the third link, I'm sure this is something you're going to want to research further...as SOON as possible. The risks are enormous.

Celiac Plexus Block
Block: Can Paraplegia and Death after Neurolytic Celiac Plexus Block Be Eliminated?
(the link for this one took you only to a book that can be purchased, and since it made the page spread out too far, I edited out the link).
However, by just this tiny bit of research, we now understand where the pain is coming from, and more of what we'll have to do to kill it. Celiac blocks are used for "cancer pain", and I know I've read some
Dr. Schulze clinical evidence where he was consistently able to achieve a pain-free state, in less than a week or two. Of course, this is a major priority for a LOT of reasons. I will get on it as soon as I possibly can.
Hospice and IV's. I may have mentioned it, but I worked at a Hospice for two years. When a patient is referred to Hospice is means they have a terminal diagnosis and agree to stop "treating for a cure" and start allowing and assistingi the person to experience a pain-free "natural" death. By "natural death" in this case, they mean that once a patient becomes so pain ridden or physiologically blocked by the cancer that they can't take in fluids on their own or by their own volition/reqest, then, in "nature", that is when the body would die. So an IV is stopping natural death...and that's not what Hospice is about, so that's why they won't start an IV.
Your dad needs to be consuming an absolute bare minimum of 70-80
ounces of water daily....this is not an option, and he needs to understand that and comply. However, there's a LOT of possible ways to accomplish this! Juice of all kinds, a blender, ice, fruit yogurts, ice cream (of the healthy kinds)...all combine into a myriad of fabulous, fruity icy "shakes and smoothies"...and you'll be killing two birds with one stone! Juice and Water/Ice...and you might even be able to sneak some Superfood in a few without him catching on (especially if you always add a little from the very start (grin, wink :) It might even be a bit of fun for him to pick n' choose his own combinations; he has SO few choices right now, everyone you can offer him is bound to be a HUGE blessing for him.
And, it's imperative to get to the state of 2-3 bowel movements a day (this is one thing that will also help his pain!); 2-3, no matter WHAT it takes (and no matter how messy, embarassing, or psychologically difficult it is).
And trust me on this one, I do empathize and understand. I took care of my grandfather for the last few months of his brain tumor, and I spent many hours with him in the bathroom...it was tough for him AND for me, but hey, anything's better than the alternative. And to top it off, he insisted on peeing while standing up, but he'd lost the feelings in his hands and couldn't find his penis. So, it's time for a major poop-fest, and laughing about it outloud WILL get you through it. I believe you mentioned you had some Schulze IF#1...if so, hit it hard...yesterday!
Juice, water, Superfood, IF#1, there's no way to go overboard at this point. The less food and more Superfood the better. If you could pull off a five day juice fast, you'll be thrilled with how fast he's "coming back" to you.
The enemy is overrated with the weaponry you possess...all you have to do now is fight the good fight (and sound the trumpets!).
Blankets of blessings (you may relax in them anytime you need to :)
