I have been researching the use of vitamin d3 as a general supplement for the immune system, and particularly how it affects herpes. It's no surprise that I have found some conflicting information but I'd like to get some input from anyone who has tried it or has some knowledge and educated guesses on how D3 works on herpes. (there's lots of info about d3 in general, but not much related to H)
I have read some reports that it brings out cold sores in great numbers although they never fully form, dry up and peel away. I've read that some have experienced no more outbreaks. We are all different, I know. I'm just trying to make the best decision about it. I have read glowing reports of D3's effect on eczema which is another issue I am battling.
I have H type 1 & 2 and am considering just trying it to see how it affects me, although I do not relish the idea of going through another major healing crisis if there is no benefit at the tail end of it. I have experienced healing crisis 3 times from 3 different approaches to killing this virus. Each time the virus seems to be weakened, but it is still persistent enough to appear frequently in its 'weakened' state.
Do you think that in 'bringing out' more outbreaks, the D3 is getting the virus on the run or do you think it is simply stimulating more outbreaks?
D3 is supposed to be great for overall immunity so I'd like to believe that a stronger overall immune system will help me be outbreak free. If a healing crisis is the only thing standing between me and having my sex life back, I would start this very second.
