Hi.
I've tried the
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) 4-5x before, and it only worked once out of all those tries. I always used either plain
Sea Salt or himalayan salt before. I may have over-heated the water a few times so the salt was absorbed. I've tried it with 2 tsp, and with 1TBSP. I don't remember what I used the one time it worked (it was so long ago!
This morning, I used 32
oz of warm filtered water and 2 tsp of the salt. I drank the mixture at 7am on a mostly empty stomach (had 12
oz of plain filtered water 20 min earlier.)
***Once again, my body retained everything I put into it. It's 1:15pm now, and I've had no elimination of any kind (other than maybe 1/2
oz of urine.) I only had Baleine
Sea Salt to use, which has magnesium oxide and the anticaking agent Yellow Prussiate of Soda in it. Could this have caused the problem? And/or is there a larger issue here with my electrolyte balance, since this has happened many times before (over several years?) What should I do now? (Or not do?) I have lots of heat in my cheeks, had a minor wave of dizziness about 30 min afterward, and am still extremely bloated.
I have now had another 16 oz of plain water, a small bowl of unsweetened cooked millet with coconut oil, & about 3oz of plain organic coffee (usually works quickly to move my bowels along.)
I had some urgency to do the flush this morning, even though I didn't have the purest salt available. I wanted to flush out what might be causing the horrible rumbling/burping/gas/bloating after drinking water from the headwaters of Sacramento river 2 days ago. (The source is known to be clean, and I've used it many times before, but this was the 1st time this season, and smelled slightly algae-like this time. Major intestinal upset followed after drinking small a couple pints over a 1-1/2days.) I needed to try something asap.
I also intended to try this for several days in a row this week. I need to clear my tract, and have very limited funds at the moment. I'm also concerned I may have a slight obstruction or flacid area in my bowel, and some diverticular issues (not extreme, but showing signs); I don't feel safe taking psyllium or clay right now.
I'd like to trust my gut, and clearly I've got some things to work out. Your knowledgable feedback and intuition are welcome.
Valerie - you suggested an enema to relieve bloating, and suggested 1tsp salt/pint. A salt-water enema? (I've never done one before.) More salt? Is this safe in my case? And would the Baleine salt be ok? Thanks for your help.
