I have felt horrendous for six months and was recently diagnosed with ebv. My igg was around 3.5. The symptom that bothers me most is when the severe fatigue sets in I get chest pain and palpitations. Is this normal?and is this a sign that the virus is attacking my heart? I've read where the virus can attack your heart muscles and cause the beginning of cardiomyopathy
I can't answer that question, but I pretty sure that you're dealing with adrenal fatigue too. Pounding heart is a symptom of Adrenal fatigue. Co-enzyme Q10 or obiquinol is good for the heart and adrenal fatigue. Hawthorne capsules helped me when my heart was pounding. All I had to do was get up to go to the bathroom at night for my heart to start thudding. I started taking the hawthorne when it happened and it would quickly quiet it down. Have you taken a 24hr cortisol saliva test to see what stage of AF you're in? Treating the AF along with the EBV will help you get well faster.
Before I had an official diagnosis I was assuming I had af. A 24 hr cortisol test showed I was right. Low end cortisol and very low dhea. Since the adrenals support the immune system I wonder if they had a part in the virus getting loose. It's easy to let your mind wander and think the worst is going on in your body, but I know most of my symptoms are af related. Stress is the devil.
I also have EBV and have had CF for years. And tested + for mycoplasma pneum. and chlamydia pneumonia. After doing a lot of research I've found this Chlamydia Pneumonia is sort of a sneaky "gateway sickness" that is present with SO MANY other illnesses like CF, MS, Parkinsons, Alziemers(whole lotta brain fog!), autism, arthritis, dental infections, schizophrenia, heart troubles and the list goes on... This is NOT the sexually transmitted type either, it's airborne and is caught just like a cold. Have to wonder if we could just knock IT out could that keep the other diseases from taking hold? I think they should make testing for this a priority. But there's a lot of $$$ to be made off all those diseases... >: (
