U know what (sorry, I do not know ur name), I have been making fasting attempts since 1995 and finished successfully two 10 dayers but it did not reset my teste buds.. Yes, after those 10 dayers I felt better and my stomach was smaller but in a short while everything returned to the way it was.
I have a few pals (well, better to say just 3) here at CZ who thanks to fasting lost a lot of weight and now they are eating right by maintaining their shape. But, lets face it, MAJORITY of people here are not as srtong willed as those a very few ones. Plus, as far as I know those three, I know, they were determined to do it and were successful in their attempts on a second attempt or even stright away. But look at this forum by reading some posts.. it seems like for almost all people here their new life begins every day and they see fasting as a solution for everyting. It is MADNESS. It is possible to feel the PAIN of not being successful today and then a HOPE that tomorrow 100% everything will be perfect - .. but it seems it is NOT. Every day aims are set higher and higher - 10 days! 21 days! Who is up for 30 day challenge with me!? But then they do not post anymore upon that and within couple of days or so return with even more challenging aims asking for more and more support.... I have gone through this and I know what I am talking about.. With the exception of.. I used to do it quetly without posting much.. I do think if after several tries u fail over and over then PERHAPS better not to try at all at least using this way. One of my pals said one day: I found it stupid to fail on the same thing over and over again. If it doesn't work - try something else.. If any kind of fasts do not work then perhaps it is better just to eat good HEALTHY food and be happy with ur look day after day. Yes it will take some time but SURELY u will get there. Any doubts?.. Anyone??
Every fast is a HUGE STRESS for our bodies. People who fast or attempt to fast often bring a big time damage to teir bodies by eating junk after it is over and then attempt to fast again. Even those people who went for very long fasts atmit that some of them experienced a hair loss after.
As for ur confusion about a plant based diet I could give a u few hints :)
1) When u go for it try to eliminate completely all animal products: meat, fish, eggs, milk based products. They are not good for us and course illnesses like cancer, heart disease, diabetes and many others (perhaps I will explain briefly why each of those products harm us but in another forums coz this one is not for it - but I will send u a private email about it if I go for it).
2) Eat at least one meal made of RAW salad (do not forget to use green salad or other greens)
3) when eating carbo (like brown rice, baked potatoes and some other porages.. first two are the best) make sure u add raw salad too and chew, chew, chew :)
4) do not mix several proteins or several carbo at one time. Remember 1 type of protein per meal or one carbo per meal (it would be an ideal option).
5) To make ur digestion better, do not drink anything with ur meals. Have ur tea/ water/ juice before ur meal. Ideally juices 20-30 min befor ur meal (but I am telling u how it all works in the best ways for ur body - u decide urself)
6) I read yesterday that almonds help loosing weight.. But, anyway, nuts of all kinds are very good for u. Try to eat them raw. If u are afraid that it will be not enough protein for u by eating simply nuts then just relax :) coz every fruit, vegetable and green salad contain protein in a very good assimilative form... I have a videos (duration of each of then is 1-1.20 h) and it says there that in 100 kcal of meat - 14g of protein, in 100 kcal of green salad - 13g of protein. Not a big difference, right? :).. But in meat - no fiber, cholesterol, fat, not much vitamins if any, in green salad - fiber, no cholesterol, no fat, load of vitamins. The choice?.... :)
7) Also consider taking raw (preferably organic) coconut oil. It hugely defers from other fat and DO help u to loose weight gradually but SURELY. Also if u have candida then it will help u too (3 and a half table spoons a day if u have this problem - let me know if u need more advice upon it). Cayenne peper is great for u. Simply MARVELOUS stuff to take!! Candida, problems with stomach, stomach/ deudenal ulcers and just many thanks from ur body GUARANTEED! :D.... Taking (ideally organic) raw unpasteurised UNfiltered apple cider vinegar is also GREAT. It will help u to keep candida at bay, improve stomach function and ur body itself, help with weight loss too. Two recipes of healthy drinks for u to take as a start of ur day (but u can drink it more often) on a n empty stomch - 1) 1-2 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar per glass of water... 2) just a bit of cayenne peper on a end of spoon, some raw lemon juice and glass of water (add just a bit of cayenne from the start and then top it up when u get used to it, do not be afraid of a light burning in ur troat or stomach - it is all good).
8) Do modern excersises and then the way u feel. Do dry brushing (google the right ways to do it). It will improve ur body function and can help with ur weight issue too. Massage ur body with special exuipment or even with ur arms where u think u need to and where u can reach. It will help u to avoid 'loose' skin (it will help ur skin to 'shrink' quicker).
9) Do not weigh urself often - ones a week, say, Sunday, is more than enough. Do not be addicted to it - Just trust me upon it :)
10) Try to eat ur last proper meal not later that 8 p.m. Then if u still feel kinda hungry - drink vegetable RAW juice from the juicer. It will feel u up right away. Bottled juices from the shops, even 'freshly squeesed ones', are 'dead' coz every juice should be consumed within 10-15 min after
juicing (or within 24 h kept in a tight closed jar). That is why when we drink bottle juices we feel hunger agter drinking them.
11) In a months or may be later, when u get used to ur good eating habits and in a fixed times u could do one day just being on raw juices. I would not advise u go for it now even if it seems like another perfect option to u. I have been there too - it is just another type of FAST. U do not need to fast now. U need to eat GOOD alive food by helping ur body to start function like a clock. And be PATIENT :) U will get there! We BOTH know it. Right? :))
12) And finally, LOVE URSELF, dear... coz u are UNIQUE.. Value ur INNER values, ur inner beauty and outer one will come quite soon coz u will work on it gradually but SURELY :)
... Ur will recet ur taste buds in the process of eating good food.
