I just tested a friend who has been experiencing lower back pain, and occasional discharge in her urine.
My microscopic examination of her urine showed higher than normal levels of bacteria after 24 hours in vitro at 30+ degrees C. There was also evidence of mucus, which could only be seen under phase contrast setting.
The urine became cloudy, fast, and had particulates. There was significant epithelial shedding.
The bacteria reacted vigorously to nuclear stains.
The gram staining revealed bacteria that was gram negative and morphologically exact match to Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
Just a typical test, but demonstrates how otherwise easy tests can miss the mark [her doctor missed it].
In this case, the bacteria is a strain that seems to be well tolerated by the host. This is how diseases slowly become parasitic. Shroom

most people will think they are getting old, that they have been sitting incorecctly, lifting incorectly.
I myself got lower back pain sneaking up on me some time back, I had it for a year. Then I tried to treat something else with a special Antibiotic and the back pain and several other things went away.
The problem with Antibiotics is many Antibiotics have side effects, and if you do not know what infection it is you can end up taking a series of non effective Antibiotics that only weakens you. On the other hand the right antibiotics can do miracles.

Just to use microscope is not very good method alone, a series of bacterias looks basically almost identical to Gonnorhea under a microscope.

but yes it can be missed on several tests, Gonorrhea is a type of test that should be repeated.
Repeated tests, as well as also testing for it in throat and possibly also in gastro system could be necessary to exclude it. In some cases it is also not in Urine, but it could actually be other places in body. Amount in urine could also vary through day.
lower back pain related to Gonorrhea is more often associated with what is known as Gonococcal Proctitis (Neisseria gonorrhoea) in the gastro system. Most doctors are not even aware of this and almost never test for it. It can cause lower back problems, gastro problems. Together with this is often observed Gonococcl Pharyngitis (N. G. in throat, can give week sore throat, also weak pain around inside of eyes commonly related to this, as N. G. also can go up there). Well it can go in whole body, but for it to survive in the blood in any quantity is hard, as it will be fighted of quickely there normally, but it can survive in urin system, gastro, throat, around eye etc.- Re: Gonorrhea positive #131489

We used a condom but we had oral sex (both ways) without a condom.
We're not in a committed relationship, recently I met someone else and I had unprotected oral sex with that person ONLY ORAL.
the guy I had sex with on 7/22/2010 calls me on 7/26/2010 and tells me that he has Gonorrhea and Chlamydia and I gave it to him.
Of course I don't believe a word of this but since I haven't been tested I went to see a doctor on 7/28/2010 he did a urine test and on the 29th he calls me with my test results for both Gonorrhea and Chlamydia and they both came back negative.
I tell this to the guy and he says there is no way that test is correct and the last person he slept with was a month ago and the only way he could have gotten it was from me according to HIS doctor and the incubation period.
he says my test proves nothing. I already spent 185 bucks for both tests
Now he says he doesn't get his test results back until Monday, so come to find out he wasn't even diagnosed but had severe symptoms and did go to his doctor who has 35 years of experience with this stuff and gave him Antibiotics for either Gonorrhea & Chlamydia.
My doctor tried to give me Antibiotics as well but I refused until he at least knows if I have it and I don't have symptoms and I know that's normal for women.
My urine tests came back negative but this guy keeps saying I have it and I gave it to him and it had to be me since he developed symptoms 12 to 16 hours after we had sex.
I have a more thorough exam with my normal Gyno on the 5th but I still think I didn't give this guy anything and he's not making sense The other guy I slept with is in denial about the whole thing and we aren't speaking anymore. I asked him to get tested.
My instincts tell me he got it from another woman he slept with. He says impossible since his encounter with her was a month ago.
and since I read online there's only 50% chance of me getting it if I sleep with a man who has it, then I consider myself lucky since him and I used a condom. We did have unprotected oral sex, both ways though.
Even if my other test results from my doctor come back negative he says it's still me and that the tests are just wrong. I feel like I'm dealing with a crazy person but another side of me wants to know for sure. If you have thorough knowledge and experience with Gonorrhea and Chlamydia please help.
