Yes I know. Twiki sounds like an employee who's getting paid. Maybe ACORN. LOL
I think Tiki has a good use around here. (I like that nick name Twiki. It makes me think of the character on that old Buck Rogers sci-fi flick.) A few liberals on a forum help serve the purposes of educating some people and enlightening them and advancing the causes of conservatism.
Liberals want to be seen as good people. They don't understand that their policies are destroying nations in the long term and advance the agendas of those statists on the top who are power hungry.
We conservatives also wish the best for other people. We are good people. We don't see victims or groups. We see potential and we want people to set goals and accomplish them. Struggles and failures tend to ground people. Let's learn from it shall we? I guess many liberals have more or less given up with their personal potential and finding their niches in the economy. It is sad.
Some liberals argue that choice is an illusion. I disagree with that. We can choose to seek wisdom. For instance, if we were wiser, we may have chosen to do something another way instead of the unintended consequences a choice in life may have resulted in. I say we can choose to find a way to succeed and help others along the way to success.
This is an illusion that is propagated by the right wing radio nuts.
I thought it was my own thought process. I don't understand upper middle class and rich liberals other than those who wish to position themselves in a position of power. My guess is they think poor people are helpless. I don't think they are helpless. I think they just don't have the proper teachers and motivation. Throwing money or things at them isn't going to do much to help them.
They favor help for individuals as opposed to help for corporations....when there has to be a choice.
Superficially it sounds good but, when we choose to help people over corporations.
1. It is neither our money nor was it earned or should belong to anyone in the government.
2. We essentially punish success.
3. Stifle liberty and the choices corporations may have wanted to do with that money that is no longer theirs.
4. May have prevented that corporation from expanding and hiring more people.
5. People don't respect unearned money and objects nearly as much as if they had earned it. Look at lottery winners (over 70% are flat broke within a few years) and people who rent and government programs that place poor people in homes. Look at Indian reservations (before they got into gaming).
If 70% of lottery winners become flat broke, what makes liberals think we can elevate the poor?
