Based on your description you have a fast phase one liver metabolism and a slow phase two liver metabolism (according to Cutler it is an important factor in multiple chemical sensitivities). Believe me, I know how it feels (I had the symptoms of fibromyalgia and
Rheumatoid Arthritis ).

25mg of DMSA every four hours for 3 days
[/quote]
Your side effects are NOT caused by DMSA. These are the side effects of mercury redistribution. They occur because the availability of DMSA in your boodstream drops six times per day and the mercury wrecs havoc on your immune system while you wait it out to take the next dose after full four hours.
Your metabolism uses DMSA up faster than other people's. You need to take your dose MORE FREQUENTLY. Take it every three hours and see how you feel.

I would rather do 12.5mg
[unquote]
Why should you? You would only suffer even more. It is like trying to take off in a jumbo jet at 12.5mph; it would not work either. You have to give it some traction.
You need to slowly biuld up a "critical mass" of DMSA in your body at which you feel comfortable and keep it steady at that level for as long as you can tolerate it (I would make it two weeks rather than three days). If you take too little of it, you suffer needlessly. If you take it for too short a time, you suffer mercury toxicity on DMSA withdrawal.
Speaking from my personal experience, this is how I settled on my dose (Like you, I have fast phase one metabolism):
- 100mg every four hours did not feel right to me; I felt side effects from the mercury an hour after taking each dose. I was clearly not enough for me.
- taking 200mg every four hours made me feel good for the first time in fifteen years. I could feel the toxic waste being pulled from my body. I still experienced the effects of mercury redistribution, but only about one hour prior to each next scheduled dose. Since I got a three hours worth of a smooth ride on each dose I decided to go with 200mg every three hours, day and night, and it works like a charm. After a few days on this schedule (with or without supplements), I feel as if I had taken a shower on the inside. Whenever I have this feeling of being clean inside, I continue for maybe another day or half and then stop the DMSA.
Why would you want to stop when you are feeling good? You want to wait for the body to dump some more mercury into the bloodstream from internal organs (this way gou get the biggest bang for the buck as therapy can be quite expensive). It may take a few days for your body to feel toxic again or maybe only a few hours; in any case wait at least four days to start another DMSA campain.
You go on like this for a few months and your should feel progressivly better. About six months after
Amalgam removal, in your case probably around April, you will likely start feeling worse, but this is normal and it will go away (Cutler warns about it and he is right).
About your side effects. Every person has somewhat divverent symptoms of mercury poisoning. When I get real sick from the mercury in me, my immune system gives up on me and nothing seems to work. When it happened last time, I took 100mg DMSA _every_ _hour_ during the day and 300mg every three hours during the night. Only this desparate move kick-started my immune system (only at this dose I experienced what I believe were side effects from DMSA). I am writing this not to recommend this to you but to tell you that I was there and lived to talk about it.
Take more DMSA and increase the frequency.
I wish you the best of health!
