The doctor I am seeing is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. Since he can't prescribe things I also have my nurse practitioner involved who used to work with someone like him and is comfortable with this. He sent a stool ample to a place in Seattle and that's how I got the results of the 3 strains back and they rate it 0-5. The candida albicans was the worst at a +3. I had a feeling that I had it before I got tested and was kind of in denial. I think that if you do one od the on-line questionaires it'll give you a pretty good indication wether you have it or not. He uses the results from the stool sample to know how long to treat and how intensely. This is what I have done so far:
Day 1-3
Formula SF722 by Thorne research(anti-fungal): 1 tab twice a day.
Cellular Oxygenator by Professional Compliementary Health Formulas: 7 drops twice a day.
Day 4-7 SF722: 1 tab 3 times a day.
Cellular Oxygenators:7 drops 3 times a day.
Day 8-14 SF722: 2 tabs in am, 1 tab in afternoon, 2 tabs in evening.
Cellular Ox.: 7 drops 3 times a day.
Day 15-30: SF722: 2 tabs 3 times a day.
Cell. Ox.: 10 drops # times a day.
The whole time I've been taking probiotics 1 dose 1-2 hours after the SF722(so it doesn't die off from the antifungal.)
Then I took Diflucan(prescription) 100mg once a day for 3 weeks along with the probiotics. Next I will start Terbinafine(prescription) 250mg daily for 3 weeks.
As far as food goes, I'm living on eggs, a little sourdough bread with butter, meat, some flour tortillas, salads, with dressing that I make off a candida site, black olivs from whole foods not in vinegar, unsweetened soy milk, fresh almonds and almond butter with brown rice cakes, refried beans, plain yogurt sweetened with english toffee stevia drops, fresh lemonade sweetened with truvia and a few other things. If I go out, I usually try and get a taco salad.
