Hi Allisone,
Your situation and your concerns were just brought to my attention by a potential patient.
Balloons have been used up the nose to move the sphenoid bone and other skull bones since 1930.
Medical doctors are now using balloons going up into the sinuses for sinus infections since 2004.

NASA even reconizes that the skull bones move.

I was trained in the NCR--NeuroCranial Restructuring since November 1996 and used it up until 2008.
I currently use a technique called CNSR. {Central Nervous System Restoration}
You state that NCR sounds like a SCAM because the NCR Website states that it helps Almost Everything.
That was the same thing that I thought when I first heard of the technique back in 1996.
I thought that it Sounded Too Good To Be True.
Then, I heard that Dr. Howell had a one year waiting list for patients to get in to see him; so I decided that he must be helping a lot of people or he would not be so busy.
BNS {Bilatteral Nasal Specific} and NCR and the work that I do called CNSR all relieve pressure on the brain and allow better blood flow and better flow of the Cerebro-Spinal Fluid to the brain.
A wet nerve will conduct the nerve impulse quicker which results in better memory and quicker thinking and better focus.
The balloon assisted cranial adjustments will open the turbinate bones so that patients can breath better and get more oxygen to the body.
Your brain controls your whole body!
In 13 years of doing these “Balloon Assisted Cranial Adjustments" approximately 39,000 times I have had 3 people get upset at me.
You do NOT say which doctor treated you and how long he has been doing the NCR technique.
I also know that it was NOT Dr. Howell that treated you based upon your letter.
However, any doctor currently using the term NCR to describe the technique will be doing it the new way that Dr. Howell is currently teaching the technique.
You say that there was “massive crunching and tearing of connective tissue”.
What you heared is movement of the skull bones that have calcium deposits on them similar to “rust on a hinge” that has not been moved in a long time.
You are NOT hearing tearing of connective tissue.
All doctors trained by doctor Howell are going to explain to the patient that “It is a Process”.
They are going to explain that the skull bones will unlock one place at a time.
As part of that process, the “Dura” which is part of the “meningeal system” will begin to unwind.
This is called “Dural torque” by the doctors who are trained in Cranial Adjusting.
You say that the bridge of your nose looks like it has moved backwards and your eyebrows and forehead have moved forward.
The first set of treatments is designed to unlock the bridge of the nose and get better flow of blood and cerebro-spinal fluid to the frontal lobe of the brain.
That would be the first step of the “Process”.
You say that you “ASSUME” that this was because the sphenoid was “pushed backward.”
This is a incorrect assumption.
The sphenoid does not get pushed backwards.
The sphenoid is shaped like a butterfly.
It has the middle portion which looks like the body of the butterfly and 2 “wings that are attached and are quite flexible.
In fact, they are called the “greater wings of the sphenoid bone” because they look like wings and because they are flexible like wings.
It is these “wings of the sphenoid” that have become tilted, compressed, and then twisted that allows our head to change shape.
It is the inflation of the finger cot in the turbinate bones of the nose that allows for the reversal of the compression forces on the wings of the sphenoid.
You say that your neck does not look as muscular and strong.
It sounds like your neck is not having to work as hard to support your asymmetrical and imbalanced head.
You say that your head seems to have shrunken some.
The only way that his could occur is if you had been retaining water and now you are not retaining water because the pituitary gland is causing the kidneys to work better.
The first step of unlocking the skull results in getting better blood flow to your pituitary gland which is the major Endocrine gland.
The Pituitary gland controls your kidneys, ovaries, adrenals, and thyroid.
Therefore, your pituitary gland along with your kidneys control water balance and blood pressure.
Since you say that your nose is tilted upwards, that tells me that the extensor muscles of the neck are beginning to wake up and are just trying to balance and support your new head position.
Any Chiropractic Neurologist will tell you that the extensor muscles are controlled by the midline section of your brain.
That is just below the "mid sagittal suture".
Further treatment would unlock the rest of your skull so that the extensor muscles and the flexor muscles will be balanced.
It is a process and sometimes things get stirred up a little before they settle back down into a better position.
This happens when I work with Meniere's patients.
You are just in the middle of the process; just like building a house.
Your skull plates have been partially shifted.
You have not arrived at the finished product.
You know what you are experiencing, however you do not comprehend how the sphenoid bone is shaped or how the greater wings of the sphenoid are flexible.
But, I really can’t blame you because you have not gone to medical school over in Europe where this information is common knowledge.
The fact that the web site has not been updated since 2008 and the pictures are old is probably because the doctor happens to be involved doing a medical study for publication in a medical journal and treating patients is a higher priority than updating his web site.
Allisone, since you do not trust your NCR doctor; Then you SHOULD contact a Cranial Osteopath and have some of that work done.
Your anxiety and
Depression indicate that your Adrenals and Thyroid are probably fatigued and that your brain neurotransmitters are low.
There are ways of helping you and solving the
Depression issues.
That involves running lab tests using saliva to determine the function of her adrenals.
It involves running lab tests using blood to determine the function of the thyroid gland.
You could also use some Bach Flower Remedies called Rescue Remedy to help deal with stress.
Brain Neurotransmitters could be supplemented using various companies products.
Hopefully, this will give another viewpoint of this situation.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jim McCarty
