Hi, my mirena was inserted in May '07. I would always if asked say great things about it, but recently have started to have major concerns. I have over the past few years been to the doctor and had blood work looking for causes to my extreme fatigue. I do have two small children and was always told I just needed more rest and a break from them...the bloodwork was normal. About six months ago I started lactating...not a lot...just a few drops could be expressed, but my breasts were sore and I could feel let-downs. I have not nursed my youngest for two years. When I saw my OB for this he said it sometimes happen, but ran some tests just to be safe. The only thing off was one liver enzyme - elevated bilirubin. We waited two months and retested, it was slightly higher. I drink 2-3 glasses of wine 3 or so nights during the week. My diet is super clean, 8 glasses of water, 1 coffee, minimal processed food...truly it couldn't be better. My OB referred me to an IM to look into this liver issue a little deeper...but over the past few months I've really noticed some other symptoms that are disconcerting....muscle weakness/fatigue (my legs feel like I've done a full set of squats after walking up stairs), lightheadedness, off-balance, depression, lack of patience, lack of libido, sore breasts, low back pain (which I also saw the dr for awhile ago, but nothing...), nausea, chills...and generally I just feel like I'm not even in my own head half the time - I don't know how better to explain it. Why I even thought of my mirena - because I usually forget I have it is because I had these really strange palpitations in my uterus yesterday morning...woke me up and it continued for an hour or so. They were so strong that I could feel the twitching not only internally, but by putting my hand on my pelvis...so I googled and here I am. Sorry for the long post...thoughts? I'm not crazy to want this out of my body all of a sudden? Anyone else have issues with their liver? My husband wants me to have my thyroid re-tested because many of my symptoms mimic hypothyroidism as well...but with my last set of tests it was normal.
