Hi Chloe, the bag should be hung about 18 - 24
inches above your hips. Just high enough so that the solution flows in slowly. Take slow deep breaths and clamp off the inflow for a minute or so if you begin to cramp. At that point switch to quick short shallow breaths until the cramp subsides.
If at anytime the enema becomes too uncomfortable and you feel you can't take the full contents, quit for now, eliminate, rest for 10 or 20 minutes and start over. This time it should be easier since you have probably already released a great deal of waste matter.
Also, perhaps you can try an enema with just
Sea Salt and see how that feels. If your colon isn't in an acidic state, then baking soda may make it too "basic". In overly simplistic terms, basic is the opposite of acidic. Neutral is the midpoint in between. A salt solution is nearly neutral.
A good enema should leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed, and with a sense of well being.
