Well here is my story...
Went on a trip to vegas Dec 5 -10th..
come home after plane ride and week later had extreme dizziness/vertigo/numbness in my forehead..
went to doc and he give a dizzy pill Meclizine which is an antihistime .no other meds and told me I had an inner ear infection...which I would have to get rid of on my own....
Went back to docs about a week and a half later .for the same along with real bad upper resp. infection.. sent me home with anitbiotics and cough syrup and such.. which I didn't take the Antibiotics cause I dont like em... well I got over the u-resp infection myself but the numbness and dizziness remained.. so I went back to the doc.. again...he siad both my ears were full of fluid and my eyes were bloodshot and I just didnt have any energy whatsoever... So he gave me more Antibiotics which I did take (10 days worth of amoxicillan 875 twice daily ) and nasal spray called Rhinocort and allegra-d to help dry up the sinuses..which I was given the last time...
well about 4 days after my last dose of Antibiotics the numbnes and dizziness came back real bad so much I went to the emergency room that fri night and demanded they do something because I have had enough.. well they did they did a CT scan which came out normal ( no tumor or anything)just sinusitus.. and they sent me home with a script of Levaquin 500 mg.(which is specifically for sinsus trouble... well about my fifth day on that stuff I felt like I was wired up on street drugs or something I felt like my feet was gonna rip apart with every step ,and everyone at work said I looked stoned ..well I called the pharmacist and she told me to stop taking it that I was allergic and to take benedryl to get some rest .. well I had to take a total of 3 benidryl before I got to sleep at 5 in the morn......and I am still having pain all over from that so called wonderful antibiotic....... and I still have sinusitus although not as bad ..havent took an Antibiotic since last thurs.. but my doc has called me in some amox-clav which I hope I can take that cause I need some relief from this .. am so d-- tired of being dizzy and having numbness in my forehead.
Just to let you know I have used the zapper before although not regularly .and sometimes wonder if it has contributed to my numbness where I should have pain.... I don't know I am at wits end with this...
I went off Sugar for a week and felt better but this weekend I have nothing but Sugar and it tasted so good which I now feel awful for. I went into an ice-cream binge to no end .I eat over half gal this weekend alone... my body was craving that devil stuff so bad I couldn't help it.........
I once read that sinusitus could be a fungal infection that why I went off Sugar .but I just don't know what to do now..I am going to try it again this week to stay away from sugar and stick with it.
I havent been using the Rhinocort nasel spray (cortocosteriod)
I will start my new antibiotics tom morn...
I will take my probiotics every day
I will take my source of life multi and x-tra c daily
I will drink plenty of clean purified water only
What else can I do to shake this ?? I have spent over $400 on my meds in just the past few weeks with no help it seems...sorry such a long post everyone.. just looking for some answers ... and hoping maybe my post will help someone else..... do-not take levaquin I don't care how bad you are it is dangerous from what I have read and caused many paople a lot of problems with some being permanent.. I hope this is not the case for me.......
I still think the plane ride had something to do with this though cause I felt fine before.....that is weird..oh well just looking for answers and help you all.... cause I know you all here and you wouldn't tell someone to take something that has the potential to harm them or at least not on purpose..unlike the greedy doctors and drug companies.OH yeah I heard they was putting vioxx back on the market. too..... such foolish people...

MoreThis is a reply to # 136,801I empathise with the misery. You might have had minor congestion before your flight that was driven deep by the change in pressure. And there was probably 2nd hand smoke in Vegas. That is always a trigger.
I had a similar problem some years back after a flight. What I tried was to sit up to my neck in a hot bath. After 10 mins or so, when I was warm all over, I ran stone cold water over my head, with the rest of me in the hot bath. This temp contrast hurt my poor sinuses, but it caused them to contract and drain the congestion. The congestion drained from my sinuses out my nose and down my throat. The inner ear fluid drained through my lymph system. Soaking in hot water, had opened my lymph system, so the lymph fluid was flowing. Often, with inner ear problems, the lymph is congested, so the ear can't drain.
Don't know if it is too late in your case, after all the meds. Thought I'd share my trick. I still use it. Hand showers with bath tubs are great for this purpose.- Re: I have Sinusitus/inner ear infec... anne_33

This is a reply to # 136,802This is what I figured out you can have a sinus infection and little to no symptoms at all. I had been sick for one year chills, fever and abdomen pressure and weight loss for one year it wore me down while dr worked trying to figure it out...meanwhile my inner ears began to itch and seemed sensitive ...then came dizziness lightheadness, shortness of breath I ran to ENT well the dr did not want to do a nasal smear since they all come back normal well I insisted well guess what ECOLI I was tired and not getting well I went to top notch chinese medicine professor/ND he have me an amazing formula it has been curing me it took some time, because I had some complications from being so sick for so long. Anyhow , I hate Antibiotics that medical doctor prescribe. Another thing that may help is Neti pot helps but you need to boil the water for 3-4 minutes and let it cool then put it your neti pot add Argentyne 23 silver or Sea Salt it all depends on what is growing your sinuses on what you should use, or just use steam in 2 to 3 times a day ABSOLUTELY INSIST they do a culture

This is a reply to # 1,990,336The one thing that helped me the most was garlic sliced and place in a pot on the stove for t 3 minutes cooled and strained poured into Neti Pot did this daily for months.

This is a reply to # 136,801As a child I basically lived off Antibiotics due to sinus infections not going away. After years of this I had a complete reconstructive sinus surgery. Now I get sinus infections about once every two years. Going through all of this as a child made me look into alternative methods to treat this problem. One thing that makes a big difference is not consuming dairy foods. Rinse sinuses with Sea Salt water with grapefruit seed extract and xylitol added. This works wonders! Eating horseraddish or cayanne tincture makes the sinuses drain. Also, hot and cold therapy. Use all of theses ideas together and your sinus infection will be gone in no time. Oh, and one more thing, lots of probiotics!!! Here is my very own recipe for a sinus rinse.
2 cups warm water
3/4 tsp. Sea Salt
8 drops GSE
1/4 tsp. xylitol

This is a reply to # 136,805i did try the Sea Salt rinse once last night already..but funny thing is my nose is clear I have no trouble breathing at all ,dont know whether it is the Rhinocort nasel spray doing that or not but I quit using it .
I had to leave work last night and go to the emergency room because my eyes were acting weird..I mean I couldnt see right .like I had black spots all over and my left eye had flashing floaters in a half circle and that was freaking me out..well the doc said I had transient migraine.and give me two one day off work to rest and told me to see my eyedoctor and reg doctor today... Which it went away in about 15 minutes only to have a headache afterward.all above my eybrow was sore.. instead of the numbness I had been feeling... I told him my vision hasnt been right since my inner ear/sinus infection...as in my eyes would tire easily esp when on the puter...
my face is tender on the right side not so on the left
still got some drainage going down the back of my throat
I am very worried as to why I am having vision probs.
as far as meds I have been on ammoxicillan (once) Levaquin (second) with bad side effects..and now amox-clav along with allegra D or dayquil and Rhinocort...don't know if this is a side effect but I told the doc I have never had a migraine in my life so that just doesn't make sense to me...at all.....I will keep going until they help me or just get tired looking at me one... lol.. so I am not giving up ..I havent got the Grapefruit-Seed-Extract or the xylitol but I will try to get some.. my funds are kinda low right now due to doctors visits and paying out money for meds .but I will flush my sinuses with the Sea Salt again...

This is a reply to # 136,809I just sniff some warm Sea Salt water up my nose about a 1/4 tsp in a cup ... and then after a about a minute or so I start blowing it out and it seems to dry up the mucus that is in there and gives me some relief ..I want to try the real sinus flooding which you might want to check out as well but haven't yet as I get to dizzy when I tilt my head over to far and raise it back up... this seems to be going around down here in SE Tennessee as my kinfolk have had a lot of the same symptoms that I have had .along with chllls but no fever . hope this helps you and it can't hurt anyway..It is very annnoying to have beleive me I know...

This is a reply to # 136,811Me too - I don't know what's wrong with me - my temperature is way below normal (75) most of the time recently and I feel like hell - my ears are ringing like crazy and my head is about to explode.
Then I have these episodes in the evening where I just konk out and practically go into a coma for about half an hour and there is nothing I can do to stop it or keep my eyes open. Normally when I wake up my pulse is always very low.

This is a reply to # 136,801Weird, I woke up this morning extremely dizzy and feeling a little sick to my stomach. Since early February we (our whole family) have been fighting cold/upper respitory/bronchitis and sinus problems. But what is strange is that you said you flew to Vegas - we just returned from Vegas last week and during our trip and since I have had strange bouts of dizziness. I am hoping/thinking it has to do with the plane ride, the smokey casinos and several up and down trips on elevators and escalators - however I would LOVE some suggestions as to how to naturally help my body heal. I too have had Antibiotic troubles (fungal infections mostly) and I am trying to stay off as much Sugar as possible (I lost 25 pounds last fall on a low glycemic diet). Any other suggestions?

This is a reply to # 136,801Ive had an ear infection/sinusitis since Dec 2013. Ive been to Truman Medical Centers four times and St. Lukes two, each time im given weak Antibiotics or nothing at all. I have green, white and sometimes bloody puss oozing out of my ear but have been told im crazy. Im thinking its because TMC has refused to x-ray my broken ankle for seven years so theyre trying to keep me from suing? Great plan, I know...
