HI - I have been suffering from chronic sinusitis for the 9 yrs that i have been living in NYC. i have seen many, many specialists, had endoscopic sinus surgery, been treated for GERD, use nasal wash/netti pot, Flonase and other sprays, have done accupunture and chinese herbs, am on allergy medications, use anti allergen slipcovers and detergent, use purifiers at home and at work, and list of things ive tried goes on and on...
I get about 4 infections a year but they take longer and longer to treat each time and as a result i wind up spending half my life congested, tired, in pain and generally miserable.
I have been living with an infection for 2 months and now seem to have run out of
Antibiotics - my DR does not have any more ideas. I have grown immune to all of the ones that have worked in the past - been on Tequin, levaquin, Augmentin, clindamycin etc. Now on Avelox for one month and not getting better. I have also been on Steroids (medrol pack) last few years whenever i get sick but that only helps momentarily.
I am truly at the end of my rope and am looking to hear from people in similar situations. Has anyone moved and felt better living in a more rural enviroment? Can anyone relate to having tried EVERYTHING and still getting sicker? I can function but basically just enough energy to go to work and get by- do not feel like I am living my life because of this disease. Hearing any ideas or even just stories of people who can relate are welcome!
