MoreThis is a reply to # 1,352,238On a related topic, squatting while defecating is the natural position. Sitting on the toilet while defecating apparently causes and contributes to many of those conditions listed there.

This is a reply to # 1,352,238Squats are one of my most favorite exercises. I can easily squat 225 and I weigh 155 and the rush of energy I get after a good set of squats is really great! Squats are really great exercises for strengthening the pelvic/leg muscles and probably one of the best exercises period.

in fact, the civilized man is so polluted he has no clues how many laws of nature he breaks every day of his life and nature hands out a penelty for each sin against the body, we call it old age.

This is a reply to # 1,352,395My post was suppose to be about the natural way to defecate in the squatting position. The link provided gives history of this natural way and the downfall of mans health with Thomas Crappers invention of the modern western tiolet.
I find this all very interesting and actually knew this but seems one reads so much I forgotten about it and am now going to make this my way of pooping as much as possible.

When what we want is fast release
Of toxic waste from bowel and cell.
So, to keep our bodies well,
Squatting helps the waste to flow.

Actually, at my 4th delivery 6 months ago, I was in the huge tub (the only way to go in my mind, talk about wayyyyyy less pain) and was just having the longest labor ever!
I was getting very tired (had been working to many long hours in my garden) so I asked my midwives if there was anything we could do besides walking around (not working).
One said break the water the other said NO (she was the control freak), they left the room for a few minutes, so I told my husband I wanted to get to the birthing stool (like I said, painful amount of pressure) I was able to stand sitting on it for long enough to break my water, by pinching it between my nails.
The baby was born in the next 5min. (in the tub) and my midwife said, see I told you, you just needed to wait, it would happen, I smiled!!!!
I did later tell the non-control freak midwife the true story, and she agreed it was the best thing to do, of course SHE BELIEVES IN NATURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the mothers instinct.

This is a reply to # 1,352,590I just did a search on Amazon (dot) com and they have a lot of squatting stools to put next to one's toilet - under $30. Most of the ones I'm looking at (the tabs are still open) are about $22-$25.

This is a reply to # 1,352,238yeah, I sometimes jump up with my feet on the toilet seat in a squat position, hold onto the towl bar next to me on the wall and just go. you have to be careful this way and have a good sense of balance(would be nice to have more space for my feet). otherwise, on less exciting days, I just use one of those stacking crates (used for organizing) - I turn it upside down and it elevates my feet into a better position to go.
