Hi everyone,
I'm getting very upset because I had a colonoscopy and the doctor told me there was NOTHING wrong with me. And didn't have any answers except maybe you're stressed when I asked if everything is fine than why have I had diarrhea for 18 months! I have had extremely loose bms for all this time, sometimes ranging from painful diarrhea to just weird brown liquid or silt (sorry to be gross). A couple of times I've seen things in the bowl and thought maybe a parasite but then I realized it was just completely undigested things I ate. A piece of potato skin, a segment of grapefruit. My body's digestion is so weak/awful that it can't break down a tiny segment of grapefruit? Sometimes I just want to cry.
I've read a lot of posts but haven't seen much about this type of problem. The only thing that has helped some has been taking fiber(psyllium) but I know that is just bulking and not fixing what is wrong and don't want to do that for the rest of my life. I want to be well! If the doctor says that the colon, etc. is fine, than doesn't that mean that other organs are not OK? like liver, gallbladder, stomach acid problems, etc.?

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,336,110Have you ever considered fasting? Maybe pop over to the Water Fasting forum and see what they have to say. Or read through it and find some links to fasting books.
Also if you don't want to go to that, might you consider a drastic change in diet? Green smoothies and juice or raw vegan for a period of time?

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,336,132I agree. It sounds like weak digestive system. It happens if people overeat, of if they eat very poorly. I have a friend with the same problem. She is obese and she suffers from loose bowel every single time she goes to the bathroom.
Now would be a good time to implement a change in diet. Staying away from processed foods for awhile would be a wise choice. Drink plenty of water or fruit juice. This will probably make stools runnier to begin with, but it should correct the problem eventually.- Re: Weak colon #103530

I thought that I had a pretty healthy Diet but I've lately been realizing that just not eating horribly is not the same thing as eating well. I don't have things like chips in the house, but I no longer eat 5 a day (veggie/fruit) like I used to some years ago.
Rooth I don't know if I could do a straight Water Fast but i will check out that forum, which I haven't looked at yet!

I'm 5'5 and weigh about 120, good blood pressure and all, decent cholesterol.

If another organ is diseased the body will divert energy to try to heal it. This causes other organs to function less. The best option is fasting until normal digestion resumes. - Re: Weak colon Roooth

This is a reply to # 1,336,161A few thoughts on this: is grapefruit is coming out undigested, it may be explained by improper food combining. You may notice eating complex combinations of food (like chicken pot pie) will make you feel indigestion while something more simple like salad & bread or salad & meat in the same amount will not make you feel indigestion. This is due to food combining. Fruit doesn't combine well.
Also doctors look at dysfunction, not function. If they don't see something blatantly wrong they will shrug their shoulders and say "it's not broken". We look and say "but it's not working!" If your colon looks clear but your liver is blocked up, you can still have digestive trouble. Liver Flushing and deworming is good for that and can help a lot, or if your more of a drastic action kind of person, lol, the extremely clean diet or fasting can do a lot to repair.
Either way, you're in the right place. Since this is not specific, you may consider making a hobby of reading about this stuff and trying some things to improve your health over time.
p.s. my personal philosophy is that while there are some good products out there, our bodies can do much and heal if we don't want to spend money, so don't get taken in by endless pursuit of products... although I am a big fan of humaworm which is quite cheap. Good luck! - fasting tinabanana

This is a reply to # 1,336,161doing a Water Fast is pretty intense and not for someone who is just starting with fasting.
i would however suggest a juice fast. they are easier. i never thought i could go a day without food (like most everyone else thinks) but juice fasting is easy. there is no hunger. check into juice fasting, might be a good way to jump start this.
i have also heard a few ppl having success with bio-k, those really expensive yogurt they sell at health food store and some reg grocery stores. they help replenish the gut flora.

This is a reply to # 1,336,110To help digestion on an immediate basis I would take maybe a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar about a half hour before meals.
You should see a difference with this.
For some reason your body may not be producing enough digestive juices to get the job done.
Good hydration may help.
Have a goal of half of your body weight in ounces of water daily and add a little good Sea Salt of Himilayian salt to it.
The good salt is important for proper hydration and proper hydration is very important for digestion.
Your doctor looking at the colon could be a bit like a beer brewer looking at the surfaces of the inside of a beer keg to figure out why his beer isn't brewing properly.
Its the fluids that contribute to the action of digestion that is important.
Not sure the specifics on that but it could be an overall functioning of the bodies organs.
In order to rev up body functions you could look into "oil pulling" and Iodine supplementing,
Both of those should be beneficial.
Also be sure to consume good oils like olive, canola, hemp seed or coconut.
oils are necessary for glandular function and its the glands that control the functions of the body.
These are the immediate things that come to mind.
Of course there are a number of other remedies that improve the overall well being of the body that you will find on the different forums.

This is a reply to # 1,336,343The third option I wanted to mention was reading up on PH. The Apple Cider vinegar will improve PH. So will eating greens and drinking something like "Miracle Greens" or Echinacea Tea. Eating bad foods like Sugar damage PH (unsurprisingly). I mention these other ideas to look into only because if you don't want to make extreme changes, eating healthier while learning about these can help. The options of fasting or eating 80% raw foods properly combined will automatically improve PH.

I googled it and found all sorts of info on it including a website trying to sell us on it, their info was evidence enough for me.

This is a reply to # 1,336,343Hi. I want to do a Bowel Cleanse before a liver flush. The last time I did a bowel cleanse, it was quite successful but this was 17 years ago. I find that I can no longer tolerate psyllium, though.
Can anyone tell me just what sort of clay I should use as a substitute? I looked on Google and I am lost as you can imagine! Also, there are 248 pages here on Bowel Cleanse Forum and I just can't go thru them all to find the answer. Pls. can you help. Thanx.

Find a therapist, who is correcting sacroiliac joint.
To make sure you need it, check the length of your legs.
Symptom of the dislocation of the right sacroiliac joint= Right leg looks shorter.
Once the dislocation is corrected, the diarrhea will stop.

I would think that the lower back area would control digestion.

I will definitely look into these suggestions. I know I don't get the right oils, and probably don't drink enough - I cook with olive oil, but don't cook often and don't get any otherwise. Would I know if my right leg were shorter? I just tried looking but couldn't tell. That's first time I've heard of a nerve issue being a factor for something like this. I do sometimes have some lower back pain on the right side - is that where it is?

It will feel like its in the upper part of the hip if its the sacroiliac as the other poster mentioned.
But since you've had discomfort in the lower area I would want to have that addressed first.
It could very well be the culprit.
When you have a pinched nerve in the back, which is what you have basically when you have pain there, it shuts off the flow of nerve energy to some degree.
When the nerve energy gets cut off it will be very likely be getting cut off to an organ or some function of the body.
Chiropractors have charts which show which part of the back controls nerve function to the different parts of the body and I remember that digestion was low on the back.
My Mom had an interesting experience.
She was having some very bad experiences with her heart for a few days and knew that something was quite wrong.
Reluctantly she checked into a hospital and was there for a few days and endured massive amounts of tests.
Many thousands of dollars later which was billed her insurance co., the hospital determined that they could find nothing wrong with her.
Feeling better just to be out of that prison she later went to a chiropractor who had some testing equipment which gave her a print out of the areas of her back which had mis-alignments of her spine.
She got an adjustment and felt wonderful thereafter.
The printout showed the most nerve shutoff exactly where the nerve energy to the heart goes through the spine.
Needless to say she has very little faith in hospitals or mainstream medical anymore.

I really have more to think about -i"ve never been to a chiropractor before and it never would have occurred to me if it hadn't been said here! I have thought about fasting but didn't think I could do it .... :s I would be so relieve to find out what the problem is and be able to fix it!! this has really effected my life, even though I try to act like it doesn't and just go but it affects work, dating, everything.:(
But I" think I"m on the way to being UNdiscouraged :)

This is a reply to # 1,337,139As to fasting, I agree with one of the previous posters who recommended a juice fast (or feast). Juice is very easy to live on when done properly. It's a lot easier than water fasting.

I also just tried to put some Sea Salt (french, not himalyan) in my water but had to throw it out because I couldn't drink it. :P

This is a reply to # 1,337,185I'm not a big fan of salt. It's INORGANIC minerals and I don't believe the body has use for INORGANIC minerals. When you consume these minerals, the body will just convert them to organic minerals anyway. If you want minerals you might as well just eat nuts and seeds because they are mostly minerals anyway and if you want more minerals there's no reason to eat INORGANIC minerals when organic minerals are easily obtainable. Eat things like pumpkin seeds and you have plenty of copper. Peanuts and nuts are good sources of iron, magnesium, zinc, and many other minerals. Natural salts found in fruits are all the salts you should ever need. You should never have to add salt to anything you consume.
Salt isn't much better than mineral supplements. They are still ROCK and the body has a hard time breaking it down. And salt water tastes nasty anyway. You should let your food be your medicine. If you are consuming nasty stinky concoctions then you won't be willing to do it for long and you will just get upset and discouraged.
Learn the simple ways. Fruit juice and fruits and eat vegetables simply. If simple fruits and vegetables is 80% of your diet you will probably avoid debilitating disease that most people get at some point in their life.

This is a reply to # 1,336,110I didn't get to read through the entire thread, but wanted to share my experience with you.. I had chronic explosive diarhea for more than a dozen years.. 2-10 times a day,everyday.. accompanied by acute pain... I also went to the doctor, who said there was nothing wrong with me... colon was fine.. eat more prunes.. that sort of thing.. *rolling my eyes* (as if I hadn't tried all of that before going to him!! geez!)
I finaly took matters into my own hands and did some research, and I figured I would eliminate one thing at a time.. first thing I did, was I went on humaworm parasite cleanse for one month... and 3 weeks after I finished the humaworm I stopped having diarhea... just like that... my stools were very thin, and light in color.. so I'm following up with a good Colon Cleanse and that has helped even more... so... try a parasite cleanse! it is very possible that you have parpasites. (btw.. I asked my doctors repeatedly over the years about parasites, and was even tested, and they said I didn't have parasites. little did I know that they only test for about 5 parasites, and there are HUNDREDS of parasites that you can have... and the ones they tested me for, would only show positive, if I passed on in the stool they were testing... if they weren't in the stool, they wouldn't be detected.. )
So, if I were you, I would start there... I LOVED the Humaworm product.. I also know that barefoot also has a very good parasite cleanse... I would chose one of those if I were you.. I would forget any parasite cleanse found in a drug store, or wallmart..or health food store.. they are rubbish.. I know with Humaworm he makes it fresh for you the day it is shipped... I don't know alot about barefoots dewormer, but I know he get's lots of rave reviews on that as well..
Anyway.. that's my story... and I had diarhea 10 times longer than you, and I was completely without hope... and if a parasite cleanse can help me.. it may just help you too.. :) good luck!
