IMHO, you should only become a breatharian if you are prepared to give up food. Otherwise, you would be better off becoming a liquidarian or a fruitarian.
Avoiding pain and detox IS NOT A REASON TO GO BREATHARIAN. I can't stress this enough, that avoiding toxins is not a reason to go breatharian. Everything serves its purpose in the universe, even the poison called "food" that people mistakenly shove down their mouths.
Breatharianism is about being at peace with yourself. It is about being at such peace, that you no longer have any desire to consume others. People who do not have this peace will find breatharianism difficult, because fasting amplifies emotions. An obsessive or fearful person will only become moreso if they fast.
If you are merely looking to avoid pain, your best bet is going to be lots of fruits. In terms of diets, pure fruitarianism is the least toxic. And they certainly taste better than your Chinese food. I'll take strawberries over
Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) any day of the week.
If you eventually lose the desire to eat, that is a much better time to be looking into breatharianism.
