Since Mirena removal, my biggest issue is trying to get my periods back to regular. When they are regular, I feel fine, but when they are late, I get all those bad symptoms back: bloating, fatigue, depression, mood swings, weight gain, facial hair, etc. But as soon as my period comes, I feel better and drop the weight I gained.
So since last period was about 4 weeks late, after I got it, I thought why not try exercise? I've heard it helps regulate your period and since I'm still carrying extra weight that I need to lose anyway, I thought why not. I talked to my doctor about this and she agreed that the regular excercise will help regulate your period. Has anyone else tried this?
Well, since working out regularly (about 3-4x/week, mostly cardio so far), my period came only 2 days late this time. And I feel great because I didn't get any of those bad symptoms back.
Of course it's too early to tell if it worked and I will continue going to the gym to make sure that my period stays regular, but I was wondering if anyone else tried this?
A friend of mine who has PCOS suggested I get on metaformin like her to regulate my periods. But I refuse to take any medication that is unnecessary since my blood
Sugar levels and hormone levels are normal and I have never been diagnosed with PCOS. This friend also is overweight, eats poorly and never excercises and still feels terrible even on the meds so following her advice would not be a good idea.
