Ok girls - I am so sorry for this but: Are you ever worried about getting poop remnants in your urine when peeing in a cup? I have been squatting and peeing in a cup and drinking it for the past week. Yesterday, I got E-COLI and was up all night with deathly gross diarrhea and nausea. I didn't eat much yesterday and nothing I could think of that could've done that to me (A bananna and a little oatmeal). But I have been having loose stools since starting all this new health stuff and even though I am clean and wash and wipe good (UGH - TOO MUCH INFO, HUH???) I still worry with our *parts* being so close together that perhaps some microscopic remnants of poop made it into my drinking urine cup. Any one thought about this? Dealt with it? Should I buy sani-wipes and wipe myself down before peeing in my cup? Wouldnt that have toxins too???? WOW, I am thoroughly grossed out and in need of advice from those of you with a strong stomach who can take on this topic! I don't want to give up UT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I usually wash thoroughly with soap and water after a BM when doing UT so I haven't encountered any probs.I can do this because I work from home but I realise this would not be practical if you work away from home.I would advice to use sanitary or baby wipes to ensure cleanliness and no contamination.- Re: This is really *horrible* but ev... hanna

MoreThis is a reply to # 125,712It might be because people wipe after a BM, instead keep dapping (I hope this is the right English word, may be it is suppose to be dabbing)) so nothing gets spread. I am always clean before and after a BM.

This is a reply to # 125,711Are you quite sure about E. coli being the causal factor? Diarrhoea can have so many different causes, most of which are not of a bacterial nature. Anyway, if E. coli would get to your urethra, my guess is that you would sooner develop a bladder infection (cystitis) than diarrhoea; because the urethra and the bladder lining have little or no defence against bacteria, whereas the same amount of germs when ingested with urine or otherwise, would most likely be annihilated by stomach acidity.

This is a reply to # 125,711A very enjoyable tool that you could install in your bathroom with small effort is a little toilet shower as the ones used in Asia. We had it in Copenhagen and I loved it. It was also very practical when I had my cycle, I could continue doing UT no problems. I really miss it in the new house in Norway (but here I would have to think of something more complex, because in the winter the normal temperature of the water is icy cold, I couldn't endure that...)

This is a reply to # 125,724Yes 50 years ago I worked at a company in Holland and since they had many Vietnamese workers there they put the water sprays in the toilets, it is great.
Right now you can buy Toto toilets from Japan, they are fancier heated water and also can be used as a bidet.

This is a reply to # 125,731I was just thinking today that sole out of Himalayan salt can be compared to Water of Life, but costs enormously less. Let me know how you like Water of Life, it seems I can't import it here, but I would like to give it a try when I am in Mexico this winter.

I never worry about that. If you let the urine flow a bit it will clean the passageway. It is an antibacterial etc...
And even though I would never take the 'pooh' I wondered why do we have to train animals not to eat their 'pooh' if it is so dangerous???? I've seen many dogs eat their pooh!!! Why would they do that?

Poo in homeopathic doses cures malaria, so i agree with 26194 it cannot harm that much to have traces, eventually, even if the idea of it is quite challenging. - Re: This is really *horrible* but ev... anja

I don't think it has anything to do with E-Coli. Many people have experienced diarrhea
when doing UT men and women. I think it has more to do with extra salt being injested at times. I have read on a UT site that when doing UT and you get extra sodium in your diet then it will cause diarreah. It sounds like from what you said you are a very clean person and for it to be caused by E-Coli would seem unlikely especially when not experiencing any UTI or bladder infections.
