Hi Gadgie:
vitamins, minerals, supplements, herbs, healthy diet, juicing, fasting, flushing, alkalizing, candida theory, even dreadful urine therapy etc. are all looking at the problem from one angle. People are going crazy about this. But they are ignoring one very important aspect of health.
And that is that most health problems are caused not by diet but by unhealthy/ inflexible spine.
Yoga has been promoted for thousands of years as an aid to maintian good health, improved digestion and flatter belly. But many people will continully ignore this aspect and continue to suggest one supplement after next. What good are these supplements/herbs when the problem is inside our body.?
Its like you keep putting expensive gas in your car, but overlook the fact that the car has mechanical flaw. The car will still have have problems, inspite of all the expensive gas.
I have spent hundreds of dollars on vitamins/minerals/diet modifications etc. In the end when I started doing right exercises, my problems began to fade away.
I dont suggest any supplement. My only suggestion is improve your physical health by Yoga, deep stretching, inversions, twisting, deep breathing.
Avoid exercises like Running, Excessive walking, playing any sport, biking, jumping, anything which makes you out of breadth, weight lifting etc. There are good exercises and there are bad ones too. Steer clear of harmful exercises.
I like yoga a lot, and it might well have a lot to offer here - but I would hardly advise anyone to forget about good diet, nutrition, lifestyle, cleansing, etc. After all, those are ESSENTIAL for a healthy body.
For all the benefits one might get from yoga, there is no disorder known as yoga deficiency. A body that practices yoga without other good health is still gonna be one sick body. Maybe a flexible sick body, at least for awhile, but a sick one nevertheless.
I am not sure that we are really in disagreement, as I think you were probably just dramatizing your point.

Hi Tony:
I do beleive in healthy eating. I do so by avoiding deep fried stuff and sugary stuff. I have tried a whole bunch of supplements out there. I have even tried extreme diets ( Like no sugar, not even from fruits) but saw no improvement in my bloating/ IBS sysmtoms. I have also tried colon cleansing, parsite cleansing, liver cleansing etc. I already drink plenty of clean water. I used to do lot of aerobics considering its the best and most enjoyable exercise. But inspite of all these cleansings/ exercising/ healthy diet I was suffering with IBS, headaches, backaches, fatigue.
There is so much more to health than eating well and supplementing with herbs.
I discovered YOGA/ deep stretching/ inverting and noticed instant improvement. Thats the reason I encourage people to take steps to "Align their Spine" before popping one herb/supplement after next.
People here at CZ get mad at me when I speak against herbal supplements/cleansing/flushing/fasting. But I beleive that for many chronic diseases, the problem is with our spine out of alignment. Even constipation/diarrhea is caused by spinal subluxation, which can be fixed by doing right exercises.

Most Sick People are very inflexible.
When body is flexible/strong, the Liver/ Kidneys/colon/stomach/pancreas/thyroid etc. will work as they were designed to do, and eliminate all the waste/harmful stuff efficiently, and absorb the nutrients from our food. True health comes from inside out and happens no other way.
A truly healthy body does NOT need all the colon, parasite, liver cleansing because their internal oragans are strong enough that there is no room for all the junk in the body. The body itself will do a very good job of waste removal.
9 months ago, I seriously was very sick. I was 32 years old, and sometimes wondered I might not see my 33rd B'day. I had exterme fatigue, shortness of breadth, chest pains, tingling in fingers, dizziness, pain in arms and feeling as someone is literally back stabbing me. I lost my appetite and could not even sit for too long. I was bed ridden.
Inspite of all my knowledge on herbs, vitamins, healthy eating, I had no clue what is wrong with me. As much as I hate western medicin and preach evryone abt holistic health, I rushed to ER to get a diagnosis. They said, nothing is wrong with me, as my blood work, urin test all was normal. We were puzzeled whats wrong with me.
My husband was doing the cooking/cleaning and taking care of our 4 year old. Those were hard days. Then we just decided to try a Chiropractor ( because I had heard they can cure tingling in fingers). Anyways, things started moving in right direction since then. I slowly but steadily started to improve.
I was amazed at my recovery, but found the chiropractor to be super expensive. I luckily have insurance, but how can poor people afford this kind of treatment. This sparked my interest in how can we help align our spines. After a lot of study, I concluded that Inverting using some aid can really help in providing traction to the spine and fixing a lot of health problems.
Even problems like allergies, asthama, constipation, bloating, High BP etc. not just back aches.
I totally agree with you that many sick people are so STIFF that they are not fit for any exercise. But they must realise that their stiffness might be the very cause of their bad health, and aim at increasing their flexibility..
Herbs and supplements have a placebo effect and will only cause dependency if root of the problem is not addressed.
I think you offer some very valuable observations. If a person follows a good diet and lifestyle, gets a bit of exercise, elmininates stress and toxins from their body and environment, etc., then there may be little need to supplement other than to make sure no vital nutrition is missing - and given our mineral depleted soils and processed foods, that is a very valid concern,
Yoga is wonderful for exercise, proper body alignment and functions and stress removal.
However, some conditions that are serious and perhaps ones that have built up for years may need more the natural healing power of herbs to help restore the body to where good practices can keep it in good health. I don't think herbs are here on good mother earth just for us to look at.

Trusting your remedy is important and I have no doubt that your yoga and positive attitude can accomplish much. When it comes to serious conditions like cancer, HIV, Crohn's, Lymes, Hep-C, MRSA, yoga may help as part of an overall protocol that includes diet, lifestyle, etc., but most likely herbs and natural remedies will be necessary to defeat the problem.
Put it this way - I like yoga, but if I were to somehow contract cancer, I am not going to try to beat it with just stretching and flexibility exercises.

That is a funny sentiment from a supposed master herbalist. Does that go for the herbs you use in your claim-to-fame liver tonic? Should you be notifying your customers and offering refunds?
Funny - I could swear that you recently posted that you had outgrown CureZone . . .

A healthy spine, gut and liver - three keys for sure. And I can buy that yoga will help the other two.
