My husband is 43 years old and has been diagnosed with UC recently. He was operated for appendicitis on 1/10/08 but started having cramps two weeks after surgery. Had the blood in his stool first time on 3/3/08. Had the colonoscopy done on 3/7/08. Started Asacol 2 tablets 3 times a day on 3/8/08. His colon about 20cm is impacted on the left-hand side. Read lot of stuff on the internet and stumbled on curezone site sometime last week. Asacol did help him a little bit and he is havinf one bowel movement a day, but so far after 3 weeks the blood has not stopped in the stools. Stools are somewhat formed but has mucous and blood in them.
For the diet, he eats cereals with milk in the morning and less than half cup of tea (otherwise he gets headache). For the lunch and dinner he is taking lot of vegetables and fish or chicken or mutton with white rice or pita bread or regular bread. In between he does take boiled egg and banana. He takes just the regaular tap water. I read your diet but was not sure what can be eaten in the morning.
He does take Centrum one a day multi vitamin that has minerals in it. He also takes 2 tablets of Fish Oil Concentrate (1000mg contentrated fish oil with 300 mg omega-3 fatty acids) I want him to start the vitmins you suggested for the procedure one after the other and the diet before starting the vitamin E enema. I bought the
following vitamins as requested: Vitamin E 400IU as d-alpha tocopherol plus d-beta tocopherol, d-delta tocopherol and d-gamma tocopherol by SOLGAR (ingradients: safflower oil, gelatin, soyabean oil, d-beta tocopherol, d-delta tocopherol and d-gamma tocopherol, water)Vitamin C 500mg is Ester-c (ingredients: cellulose (plant origin), croscarmellose, calcium silicate, vegetable stearic acid, vegetable magnesium stearate, cellulose coating). I will buy selemium and vitamin K tomorrow and will send you the details. Do you recommend any probiotics or prebiotics etc. For now he is not using anything.
