hello HoW!
i have actually already read many of your posts across curezone because i have also experienced drastic hair loss after fasting - more than half my hair. i have that regrowth-mohawk thing going on too! it been pretty distressing.
i have absolutely no doubt that i have vitamin and mineral deficiencies, despite having a very good clean diet (i am actually one of those people who truly thinks a brocolli and cucumber juice is a kick-arse meal!). however, my problem stems from chronic toxemia and i have acute systemic imbalances, so my body's ability to absorb nutrients (or supplementation) is severely impaired. i have had hair analysis done before, as well as applied kinesiology muscle-testing, both of which have indicated magnesium and potassium imbalances. however, taking specialised supplements has not proven to be beneficial to my condition, nor have they corrected those imbalances.
fasting so far has gone a long way towards ameliorating many of my underlying symptoms, where no other treatment protocol or healing modality has been able to.
i totally agree with you about exercising caution. i have made an appointment this week with a renowned natural hygienist/fasting doctor in sydney. i am planning to fast again, this time through to completion, but want to get some experienced advice before i do so. hair loss and recurrent periods (i get my period again 5-7 days into my fast) are some of the issues i will be discussing with him. i really, really, really don't want to lose any more hair!!
i will post again on this forum after my consultation.
thanks for posting/re-posting your experiences HoW - and i am REALLY pleased that your hair is growing back!
