Hey, Torrie. So I emailed the doctor about what protocol they use after telling them about your protocol and they tools the dr uses. This was their response:
"Your information regarding our procedures for surgery is comparable to ours........the area is cleaned, the bone cleansed......I am not sure what anesep. solution they are speaking about, but we of course, clean the area fully. The area is not packed with meds or gauze but is sutured saliva tight and we offer a homeopathic injection that our clients may or may not wish to use. As to the anesthetic, when people are concerned about them we can test them using electro-dermal testing. There are a number of anesthetics and that is something that is discussed with our clients prior to any surgery.
We would undertake NO surgery without a full examination and discussion of your overall health and diagnostic x-rays. Your first appointment in our office would be $125 for the exam and consult and approximately $100-$200 for testing of the extraction sites. You would spend a couple of hours in our office. Surgeries are priced according to the amount needed----if in fact you actually DO need surgery. As I mentioned to you previously, many times the surgery sites are fine when the surgery is done on a young person who usually has a better chance of healing than an older person. For example, I had two 3rd molars removed in my early 20's. When checked about 15 years ago, there was no cavitation present. There was one however, in an existing tooth that had been restored with a crown.
It is important to remember that each person is different and I believe that is why our practice is different from others. Sometime this summer, when it becomes available, we will be getting an instrument that distibutes ozone into surgical sites and that may eliminate some cavitational areas and our clients may not need surgery. There is so much new material coming out that our best advice is to not jump into something too rapidly. A person needs to analyze each situation carefully.
Hope this helps.

So does this sound like the surgery they use is safe and would get the job done like yours?
