I have been taking Iodine since March this year and have only put on weight since then.
I am not bagging iodine, and will continue to take it, but I don't believe it helps weight loss one bit.

I have not lost or gained. I want to lose. Threads a little further down talk about Iodine hardening fat, and I thought I had read that it liquifies fat.

Does anyone know?

Sadly no, I haven't lost anything with Iodine, in fact, I think I gained a few pounds.

I lost 71 lbs. on the raw foods diet when I first went on it, which took me to a size 12 which at my age is a nice size, I wouldn't have minded a size 10 though. It took me 6 months to lose that weight which was unbelievable to me. I kept it off for several years. When my sister died, I gained some back, less than half, and I've got some of it off now, and with the Iodine it's helping to do several things in that regard.

One, my breasts feel soft and are looking good, getting smaller which is a good thing in my case. Someone here said in a post how much they like feeling their breasts..I like feeling mine now too! My collar bones are starting to show pronouncement again which tells me I'm starting to lose some weight. I always lose weight from neck down, then feet up..and the last to go is my middle. My goiter is not showing as swollen and so my neck is looking slimmer too. My neck feels like a regular neck which I also keep touching:)

I left my scale in Ca. during the move to Oregon recently. I'll have to get another one soon. I like to keep track of the pounds, but I mostly go with how my clothes are fitting. My clothes are a little looser on me now since I started Iodine. I don't have to squeeze into them which I was having to do before the Iodine..and I refused to go to a larger size. They are nicely comfortable now, especially with all the work I've been doing on the house.

The best part is, my lumpy breasts are smooth and soft like a baby's behind, and my upper thighs are looking less like cottage cheese, so I had thought maybe the Iodine was helping to clear out the toxic fat pockets but maybe I'm wrong about that? I'll take a really close look tonight.

If I lose weight or not on Iodine alone, I don't care. I like all the other things it's doing for me, the energy, but yet today I was saying..I feel like butter..just so relaxed and feeling good..like softened butter and I was just laying on my bed, hanging out with my dog..thinking I was pretty busy today but yet I feel like I didn't do a lot.

I think if one is taking just enough Iodine to function better then you might or might not lose weight, if you take too much Iodine, you may lose weight whether you want to, need to, or not. If you take just what your body needs I think it may help you get to your desired weight, that may even be a help in what dose to take and when to up it, or lower it. It's my guess and it's only a guess..but it is about metabolism and thyroid functioning..so it makes sense to me.

I'm taking 5-8 drops in the morning and 3-4 drops around 3 pm..this is working for me well. It doesn't interfere with my sleeping at all. I go to bed most nights early though, and I get up when I feel like it for now. So, bed is between 8pm-10pm and I wake between 8am-10am.

I'm working my dose of Iodine up..how far I don't know..I'm guessing a lot farther.

I'm trim, but for the past 20 years had a 1/2 inch tire around my waist - barely noticeable, but it bothered me that I was unable to get rid of it no matter how hard I tried.

After iodine, it went away.

I said I would take a good look at my thighs last night to report how they look, and since I was already getting naked for that I decided to have a real heavy...painting session:) I mixed almond oil with 20 drops of Iodine and painted just about everything I could get to.

About my thighs..they do look a lot better, with less cellulite..so maybe it helps to loosen and flush out the unwanted fat, and solidify the good fat because I did keep thinking lately (because I had that calf cramp I was feeling and looking a lot at it)my calves sure are hard. Were they that hard before Iodine? I don't think so, but of course I can do more strenuous work and have been but I don't think that's what it's from.

Anyway..I was thinking last night a couple things and this morning about this question of losing weight. Another thing Iodine has done is take away cravings for junk foods like chocolate candy, also it's been an appetite suppressant for me. I get very hungry about 20 minutes after taking it, so I eat a meal which is better than snacking all day.

Then it hit me! We are not meant to be overweight, fat, obese, too heavy, or even 20-30 lbs. overweight. By keeping our Iodine supply low, our cravings fast and heavy, the food industry gets that benefit! Oh my gosh..do you think they know this and that's why they switched to other things to add to food products and took out Iodine? Is this a reason the RDA recommendation is so low for Iodine? I'm not kidding, I think they are going to be found out soon, and I think they are much like the tobacco companies in their slanted views, corrupted practices, and their knowledge of what they've been doing to the American people and their hiding it from us.

By our supplementing with Iodine in the amounts we need (a larger amount than ever before, since we've been a few generations without it) I have no doubt now that our bodies will lose the fat, gain the muscle, tone up, and get rid of the cellulite if we are taking the amount of Iodine our body needs and deserves!

Ok..there's a movie I thought of too this morning..the one with Goldie Hawn and Merle Streep called Aging Becomes Her or close to that, and the scene where Merle takes the potion that makes her go back in age and it shows her butt tightening up, her breasts lifting, her face smoothing out, her skin renewing itself..all those things she could have done without the terrible consequences she has, with a little purple liquid called Iodine!

So..yes, I've notice a few little things about my body on Iodine. LOL!
