I'm not saying that your problem is 100% fatty acid deficiency so it may or may not work for you. One thing you have to remember is to cut out the 03 fats and the other fats I mentioned in my earlier posts at the same time you supplement GLA (borage EPO) Borage has a lot more GLA than EPO, and a good brand helps (I reccomend barleens). Cut out oleic while you supplement too.
The thing about fatty acid deficiency and the skin is this- when you are deficient in fatty acids the skin becomes weak. Fatty acids are involved not only in the structure and integrity of the skin but also create a barrier that keeps bacteria and fungus in check. When you loose that barrier and the skin is damaged bacteria and fungus can really get a hold and cause inflammation, peeling and redness. Look up "Seborrheic dermatitis" and you will see what I am talking about. Does your skin look like it might have Seborrheic dermatitis?
Also another tip-if your liver is by chance causing your fatty acids to be blocked you can bypass the liver by applying the oil to your belly or inner forearm. This way it goes directly into the bloodstream.
Having said all of this it could also be if you have Seborrheic dermatitis and fatty acids dont help that you have a leaky gut and you are eating things that feed the yeasts on your skin and cause irritation. So you have to eat well while your skin heals. After it heals you can have leaky gut and eat crap and it might not have any effect on your skin at all. The thing is to heal the skin, get the integrity back.
I think the most important aspect for me what to avoid all of the fats I mentioned-even tiny amounts (and I mean one bite of this oil or that oil) was enough to undo the healing I had aquired. Now after my skin became stronger and thicker I could cheat a little. My skin is still not 100% back to normal because its IMPOSSIBLE! to track all of the oils especially if you eat out. For me to heal I had to eat my own foods prepared at home and ate nothing but fruits, veggies and chicken. It was not as easy as popping a borage supplement everyday. But like I said after four days I knew without a doubt I was healing because before that I could not even put water on my face without burning and the rash was raw.
I think Udo just cut out the flax he was taking-

Here Udo writes:
"The list of symptoms of n-6 deficiency garnered from research is long, and is found in an overview article on
http://www.udoerasmus.com called "Fats that Heal Fats that Kill". I have experienced myself and have seen in other people using flax oil exclusively the following symptoms: dry eyes, skipped heart beats, thin skin, joint pain, eczema and psoriasis-like skin problems, increased susceptibility to infection, and deterioration of immune function."
