Feeling good so far. I've had a few little one day fasts so I know what to expect today. I'm more nervous about the next few days and getting over the mental addiction to food.

Ok here goes. First day into my 40 day fast. So far today I've just had water but I'm going to see how it goes and only have juice if I feel I need it. I'm planning on doing maybe 5 days water fasting and then moving onto juice fasting for the rest of the time. Although, I might switch back and forth between the two, who knows, like I said I just have to see how it goes.

But I plan to use this blog to help keep me on track and of course reading the forums which is encouraging when you see other people doing so well.
One of the reasons I'm doing this is weight loss. I know that shouldn't be my only reason and it isn't! But I am overweight after quickly shooting up a few stone or so thanks to a miserable relationship. However I did get out of that and dropped about 20 pounds. I still have more to lose but this isn't a fad diet to me. I've been researching fasting for a good while now since first finding these forums and with all that I've read, I'm really looking forward to the benefits of it. The flushing of toxins, feeling clear headed again, breaking my bad habits with food, generally being healthy again. I'll be trying to report on my feelings throughout, both mental and physical, and also effects I can see with my own two eyes, which hopefully will be more than just weight loss. I'll come back later this evening to update and also post my general stats.
So, here I go!
