Day FIVE 3 things about today (NB one includes a salad ;/)
and does anyone know how long i have to leave before safely 'starting again'?
Date: 4/21/2007 4:31:36 AM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 3810 times 1) interesting quote given my recent desire to eat a salad:
.."Nearly anything can be endured for a day. However, if you think the unpleasant sensations will continue the whole 10 days, you will quit just when the cleanse is about to do something good for you..."
2) I came to this statement a little too late. or maybe i didnt, but i did listen hard to my body, and it wanted salad. so i ate a green salad.
3) The main honest reason that i took the fast on was to cure myself of binge eating disorder. i am getting there! therefore i feel i have not failed. the last two times i faster, i came off and binged basically. this time i have regained control! hooray! I STILL LOST AN EXTRA 2 LB and im not down to 9stone 11lbs! :)
i have decided that if i EVER binge, i must fast. and i mean on anything. becasue i used to feel if i am bingeing on salad or cheese then its kinda ok. but the mentality is still exactly the same. actually after the salad i found myself 'sneaking' 1 and a half bananas! so today i have started with juice again and i might do another 5 days or maybe wait a while and then next time make sure i fast through and include the salt flush. I found this interesting article on swf below.
So im happy and i feel like im STILL winning! even though i had some food. i felt it right?
im going to check in on this blog every so often to note how the short fast has aided my problem with binge eating. i feel and see so far that it REALLY HAS!! i have lost a good half a stone in jut a few days, and i intend to keep going down.
good luck everyone xxx
SWF (looking forward to trying this, having never heard of it before! if i had found out sooner i might have carried on fasting. also, i am VERY INTRIGUED to know that if i had waited out what feelings and energy i would have awoken with on Morning 5. I'll have to wait to my next fast to know.
Another Cleansing Aid: Internal Salt Water Bathing
As it is necessary to bathe the outside of our bodies, so it is with the inside. Do not take enemas or colonics at any time during the cleansing diet or afterwards. They are unnecessary and can be extremely harmful.
There is a much superior method of cleansing the colonic tract without the harmful effects of customary colonics and enemas. This method will cleanse the entire digestive tract while the colonics and enemas will only reach the colon or a small part of it. Colonics can be expensive while our salt water method is not.
Directions: Prepare a full quart of luke-warm water and add two level teaspoons of uniodized sea salt. Do NOT use ordinary iodized salt as it will not work properly. Drink the entire quart of salt and water first thing in the morning. This must be taken on an empty stomach. The salt and water will not separate but will stay intact and quickly and thoroughly wash the entire tract in about one hour. Several eliminations will likely occur. The salt water has the same specific gravity as the blood, hence the kidneys cannot pick up the water and the blood cannot pick up the salt. This may be taken as often as needed for proper washing of the entire digestive system. If the salt wash does not work the first time, try adding more or less salt until the proper balance is found; or possibly take extra water without the salt. This often increases the activity. Remember, it can do no harm at any time. The colon needs a good washing, but do it the natural way - the salt water way.
It is quite advisable to take the herb laxative tea at night to loosen, then the salt water each morning to wash it out. If for some reason the salt water cannot be taken in the morning, then the herb laxative tea must be taken night and morning.
Tom Kennedy writes:
"I did not take the "internal salt water bath" during the weekdays because I was unable to be near a bathroom after ingesting it. Instead, I drink the herbal laxative teas. But on the sixth day of the fast, being a Saturday, I committed to taking the "internal salt water bath." Early in the morning, with an empty stomach I drank the quart of lukewarm water mixed with 2 teaspoons of sea salt. This is not an easy drink to get down. BUT I drank it quickly and within 40 minutes the eliminations started. For the next three to four hours I stayed near a bathroom as the eliminations are repeated as the body deletes the toxins from the colonic tract."
