Flood Your Body With Healing Nutrients!
I remember growing up as a young girl, I HATED eating my veggies. One day, my mother tried to get me to drink a V8 juice, hoping that it would be a way that she could “sneak” a few veggies into me. YUCK! I hated it! Back then, I would have never thought that I would be telling you to drink your veggies-but I am!
Why Juice? How Do I Get Started?
Healing Properties of Different Juices Juicing Recipes
Why?
You may be wondering what all of the fuss is about. What is the difference between eating a carrot and drinking a glass of fresh carrot juice? Well, as you know, fruits and vegetables are full of vitamins and minerals. There are also phyto (plant) nutrients that we can only get from certain fruits and vegetable. They are what often contribute to the color or flavor of the foods and their significant healing properties. For example, the phytonutrients called carotenoids that make carrots and yams orange also fight off cancer! Well, all of these phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals are packed into the fibers of our fruits and vegetables waiting to unleash their healing powers. The only problem is that our bodies must use energy to extract those healing powers from the fiber in the foods. Though the fiber is very good for us, research has shown that we are unable to absorb a large percentage of the nutrients when we eat the fruits and vegetables whole.
Obviously, both fruit and vegetable juices are very nutritious, but most people with candida should stay clear of most fruit juices, so I will focus mostly on vegetable juices from this point on. When we juice the vegetables, we are able to separate the life giving nutrients from the fiber (pulp). When we drink those veggies, we can then absorb the nutrients more fully and quickly. We are literally flooding our bodies with nutrients! That is why many people report a raised energy level after incorporating freshly squeezed juices into their regular routine.

How?
1. Buy yourself a quality personal juicer. Many people have very strong feelings as to what the “best” juicer is, so I will not step on any toes here. I will just say that you will not have the same success with a $40 juicer as you might with one that requires a bit more of an investment. Cheaper juicers tend to require more vegetables to yield the same amount of juice.
2. Select a few recipes that you would like to try. You may want to consider the specific healing properties of various vegetables as you are putting together your juices. I have also listed a few recipes that I have gathered from around the web and from various books on juicing. Try them out and see which ones you like.
3. Make your juicing shopping list and go shopping for fresh organic ingredients! Buying organic fruits and vegetables for juicing is even more important than when you are eating the foods normally because of the rapid and thorough rate of absorption.
4. Chop your veggies right before you juice. This helps you to maintain the level of nutrients in the foods. As soon as you cut a fruit or vegetable, it begins to lose nutrients!
5. Drink your juice as soon as possible after it is made. As it is exposed to the air, the nutritional value will deteriorate! If you must store it, buy an air tight insulated thermos and only keep it for 24 hours.
6. Juice several times per week to get the most benefit! An occasional juice fast is also a great way to aid in the body's healing process.

Juicing Recipes
Note to those fighting Candida: Some of these juices may not agree with your bodies depending on where you are in your healing process. Use caution when using any juices that contain green apples, berries, carrots, or beets. Though the recipes only use limited amounts of these foods, some may not be able to handle them.
If using these juices as part of a juice fast: Attempt to include one juice per day that has beets or beet leaves in it as they promote bile release and will aid in liver detoxification. You can also add a green drink to the specified juices to boost nutritional value.
