Day 3. Nasty headache day.
Too busy to blog, this update is a bit late. It's part way through day 4 really.
Date: 8/28/2006 3:56:42 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 2101 times This isn't hard so long as I don't go too long between juices. So far I haven't ventured out except a 30 minute walk to the fruit and vege shop. I got some fabulous organic broccolis that were being delivered from a home gardener while I was there......oh to be able to get my hands on produce THAT FRESH every day of the week! They had great long stalks which I juiced and I put some of the big dark leaves through too, though not much came out of the leaves in the juicer. I juiced a 1/3 of a sweet potato today too and it was good....I'm going to try it with pear and ginger sometime for a treat!
..So, back to not TOO long between juices. If I go more than 2 3/4 hours I get weak and shakey. That's bad news anyway, but when I've got kids depending on me all day it's not an option. I find I'm doing well on the six juices and the only time I feel really hungry is in the late evening. I've considered throwing in another juice last thing before bed but usually because the kitchen is clean and the juicer washed and away I haven't been able to be bothered making mess all over again.
Juices go something like this.....9am, 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm, 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
As soon as the juice is made I sit down and drink it, not too fast. Then I clean up quickly and look out the stuff for the next juice. If the clean up is left it's just a drag.....the pulp goes all composty and the juicer is harder to clean.
I made enough broth for 2 days on day two (2 cups each day). Then I've just reheated it on the stovetop.
I'm saving time where I can but I could still go further with that...maybe juicing some in advance?
Got so many questions going round in my headachy head.....how long am I going to do this for? Should I be using something to help with emlimination? Will I be brave enough to drink a litre of very salty water tomorrow morning? Maybe it will help my headache?!!
Should have mentioned, my bathroom scales say I've lost 5 lbs. I'm not obsessively watching but I will weigh myself every week or so.
