this entry is about me. it tracks my journey on my liquid fast.

there are a couple of reasons why i'm starting a liquid diet.
1.) of COURSE i want to lose weight and look good. who doesn't? so yes, my main reason is superficial.
2.) i'm only 24 years old and yet i have arthritis (due to my psoriasis) on both of my knees and my right wrist. i can barely walk or even get up without the help of alleve or some other pain medication. having arthritis on my right wrist has changed everything. it's hard to open doors, tie up my hair, or even pull the sheets up over me when i sleep.
3.) i have a severe case of psoriasis that not only messes with my mind and my emotions but it seems to be my one and only excuse for everything. "my psoriasis is the reason why i have arthritis and therefore i can't exercise because everything hurts and that's why i'm so fat and i will always be fat and oh pity me pity me!"
4.) the entire year when i was 23 was pretty dull and unimpressive. all i did was work (we opened a new restaurant in a new state), gain weight, watched my psoriasis spread, lost my self confidence, battled with arthritis which just started, and pitied myself because i was so lonely and i felt like i was missing out on life. it's been four months since i've turned 24 and i definitley do NOT want a repeat of 23.
so it's time to change! it's a new week, practically a new month, and i'm going to start my new diet!
here's the gameplan:
length of diet: who knows?? i'm taking everything one day at a time and like my username says: i'm going to enjoy the simple beauty in life. i don't want to be focused on a specific date because what happens if i don't reach it? another bummer for me. i'm just going to listen to my body and keep truckin' as long as my body allows it.
what does my diet entail?: definitely just drinking liquids. i plan on drinking plenty of water, juices (fresh if i can get them. if not, i'll make sure i get the ones that are 100% juice with as little other ingredients as possible), and my herbal tea. i will have to keep track of what i drink, though, because i need to make sure i get enough protein and other nutrients. i also plan to take my vitamins and fish oil everyday.
exercise?: absolutely! but since i'm on a liquid diet that mainly consists of water and good carbs with vitamins, i'm not going to go insane on weight lifting or cardio. i want to walk everywhere and i want to do some pilates (i heard windsor is the best) i'm also going to exercise my mind by reading a lot and taking some quiet time and focusing more on myself instead of watching tv, playing on the internet, or reading trashy gossip magazines... all which i love to do.
how much do i want to lose?: right now i weigh around 191-194lbs. my ideal weight would be around 120lbs. yeah, it seems like a lot but i'm around 5'2 and at my height, 120lbs. is pretty much where i'm supposed to be.
i feel pretty good about what i'm doing and where i'm going with this fast. i don't have any pressure or stress anymore because i'm fortunate enough to not have to work. my day is simple. i take care of my three dogs and i run my errands around the house. all i have is time.
time to take care of myself.
