Opening Thoughts
Here are my goals and reasons for starting the Master Cleanse at this time.
Date: 6/21/2006 11:21:23 AM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 2804 times Today is Wednesday and I'm not starting the Master Cleanse until Monday. I've already stocked up on herbal teas including Yogi Peach Detox, Smooth Move, and Sleepytime. On the advice of a fellow MC follower, I've purchased some Beaudreax Butt Paste (possibly butchered the spelling) and am very excited about some possible relief from the fires to come from below.
The reason I've decided to fast at this time include:
* to show some control over my chaotic feeling world
* to cleanse my body of the numerous depression meds my doctor has recently had me try
* to break the daily cycle of refined sugar and caffine that I've succumbed to
* to give me a way to reduce stress that is more useful than injuring myself and considering suicide
* FOR HOPE
I'm learning to listen to my body and struggling to control my thoughts through this process. I plan on including meditation and oil pulling to increase my effectiveness (never done either before), as well as, continuing to walk 5 to 10 miles each week (maybe more if I have the energy/time). I've decided to continue to take my thyroid medication during the fast but am replacing my depression meds (they aren't working anyway) with liquid kava kava/st. john's wort (will add to nightly smooth move tea).
My husband started night shift this week and my kids are leaving on Saturday for their dad's house for the summer so I'm hoping this will be a good opportunity to focus on me for a change.
