Attitudes toward Change
These are the attitudes some people have in regards to healthy life changes.
Date: 4/6/2006 9:15:23 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 2998 times I was at a health meeting tonight. Demos of raw food (dilly zucchini and strawberry pie), open group discussion, and we watched a video about positive attitudes.
During the discussion time, one lady stated that the unwillingness to change one's diet was not just ignorance. It is stubbornness and rebellion!
I believe she is right. Whether we are talking about a complete change in diet, or just incorporating one change such as juicing, this unwillingness to change, PARTICULARLY when the person is suffering from a disease and their family and friends are sharing with them how to reverse the disease, is stubbornness and rebellion. Pride and idolatry are mixed in there too, I suspect. The pride of thinking that "I can make my own decisions" and the idiolatry of doctors and favorite foods.
Wow. I never thought of it this way before, but it is becoming very clear to me that this is very much the situation many a time. To be fair, many people suffer just from lack of knowledge. When they learn the truth, they change their ways. But others hear the truth and reject it.
Some people do NOT want to know, and they do NOT want to change.
