back into the swing of things
king of the world, thank you coffee!
Date: 6/8/2006 1:14:48 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 2215 times Great thing - eating mostly raw and not drinking alcohol now feel normal to me. Everything else is a treat!
Yesterday I DID GO FOR A RUN! IN THE RAIN, NO LESS! And this was no drizzle, let me tell you. I did the full four miles, no walking, all continuous jogging. I was very pleased that after 9 days off running, I was able to do the whole thing with a minimum of awfulness. It wasn't bad at all.
Yesterday all good food during the day, nuts, yogurt, and salad with feta cheese, no dressing.
Dinner - a big honkin piece of broccoli, and some ground turkey with asian black bean sauce and a bit of ketchup. Starfruit slices (these are crazy - had them for the first time!)
snack - banana, english muffin with butter and sugar-free jelly. No one's perfect. And a few sips of coca cola, last one in the house, leftover from guests. I let the fiance have most of it but I did have a few sips of the super sugary goodness.
Today:
DRANK COFFEE - I never drink coffee because it makes me ultimately hyper, then I crash and am moody. But I sort of messed up with the alarm maintenance (I handle all the snoozing but must have shut if off instead of waking the fiance up). So I made coffee for us both as a way to say sorry.
Had a bit of pizza for lunch (preceded by raw snap peas), and I'm going to have pizza for dinner too. It's gourmet yummy pizza leftovers from work and I've stayed away for at least a month, so I'm going to indulge a little bit. Always preceded by plenty of fiber, so I don't clog up. News - I'm bringing home 3 slices. I'm going to give the fiance 2 and keep one for myself.
I'm usually a very competitive eater (a MAJOR problem with my portion control) but saying this to myself now is going to make it easier. I'm going to have a snack of yogurt and banana at 3:30 PM and let that fuel my workout, and keep me from being crazed hungry at dinner.
I'm in a great mood, and the coffee really kicked me into gear this morning. I'm super on top of my work today, and it feels really nice to be ahead of the curve. It's 2 PM and i'm basically done.
BUTT STUFF LOOK AWAY IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT
Also... this morning I had one of the most awesome BM I've had in a while. I had a 10 day long period (just ended) and was all kinds of constipated, combined with the fact that I ate bbq last weekend and pasta once this week, so my system was NOT flowing properly.
It's amazing if you've got a sensitive system - carbs just clog it up. I'm not anti-carb, especially when I'm running (it's necessary fuel). But pasta, bread, etc - it hits my intestines and it STICKS. I never understood what happened before, but now I'm super sensitive to it. It took 3 days of taking 4 oxypowder pills a day to get unstuck... and I started oxypowder LAST SUNDAY. My stuff moves so slowly.
OK, done being gross.
It feels so great to be back to feeling GOOD!!!!! I knew that one day of running would do it. I'm going to the gym today, doing some stair stepping, some elliptical training and some work on the bike, followed by a full 30 minutes of gut busting lifting. Today I'm really going for it, as tomorrow I'm flying home for the weekend and probably won't workout until next Monday.
Usually when I lift hard, I run the risk of losing a day or two because of muscle soreness (I know it's good to go back at it after 48 hours, but sometimes I'm still too sore). However, this weekend is a perfect opportunity to blow it out and suffer with the soreness for a few days.
Also I'm thinking I'll do 20 minutes walking on the treadmill tomorrow during lunch, to keep up the good work of exercising every day this week.
Next week's goals: RUN MONDAY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY (OR AT LEAST 3 DAYS) AND LIGHT WEIGHTS AND CARDIO ONE DAY AT THE GYM. FRIDAY AFTERNOON 20 MINUTES ON THE TREADMILL, BEFORE I TRAVEL TO NYC FOR THE WEEKEND.
FOOD: CONTINUED RAW AND YOGURT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE DURING THE DAY, 1 SERVING DINNERS
kick ass.
