Rapid Weight Loss Is Scary...Back to Square One
Aaaaarghhhhh!! Loose skin? I don't want to lose weight!
Date: 9/22/2005 1:47:31 AM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 2497 times I was supposed to start my diet today (or officially yesterday, seeing the time), but I wanted to really think things over twice.
Should I go for fast weight loss? A slow and steady one?
I was planning a fast weight loss, an EOD water/juice fast. The reason I stopped to regroup was this show I saw on Discovery channel: Before and After Plastic Surgery or something like that.
What I saw was horrific. People who underwent rapid weight loss had these huge flaps of skin and boobs hanging down to the stomach. That horrified me and increased my need to eat, like as though eating more would prevent that from happening to me. Masses of loose skin? No thank you, I'd rather be fat.
Seems like a silly fear to have I know, but I'm already quite floppy and untoned, and a situation like the ones I saw would absolutely kill me mentally. It's practically a body disfigurement.
The amateur psychiatrist inside me tells me I'm trying to 'cling' on to my fat, which I kind of 'fess up to since I do use my fat as a shield. But really, the loose skin scares me.
Oh well, I'll just weigh the options carefully, take it slow to decide.
It all works out anyway since I just received a herbal cleanse kit I ordered some time back. It's by Zand and is a one-week process....it's supposed to cleanse the bowels and liver.
I'm planning to eat a healthy calorie restrictive diet (about 900 cals) while on this cleanse, and once I'm off the cleanse I can transition to the weight loss diet.
I'll be starting a meditation class in a few days, maybe I can meditate on this matter for a solution ;) Meanwhile, I'll keep you posted on how the Zand cleanse works.
