Master Cleanse Day 8
Just when you think it's clear sailing...

No, no, I didn't cave but shopping for veggies and juice with which to break my cleanse was not even slightly fun. My sense of smell is even more keen than last I was in a market. Walking through the produce section was miserable. Who knew that fresh, organic leeks could smell so amazing? Oh, and the earthy smell of mushrooms? Apparently, my hunger has visual cues as well as olfactory ones because everywhere I turned every single item looked...well, good enough to eat. I was even tempted to guzzle some organic shoyu sauce but managed to restrain myself.
I couldn't find maple syrup at first, but finally found the right aisle and was standing there deciding which to buy. A woman was there and she was telling me that she liked a particular brand (it was Grade A). I told her I was on this Cleanse and needed Grade B. It turns out she had tried the cleanse once and made it to 5 days but felt that was enough for her. Talking to her about the cleanse made me realise how silly I was to even mildly entertain thoughts of caving in. To what avail??
I drove home, cold (it's 70 out), hungry with tummy growling, yet strong. Just drank my lemonade with extra cayenne (mmm) and have settled in for a little bit before I go to see J's parents. Only a few more days depending on when I decide to break my cleanse. I'll know when to do so.
