"Come, my friends,
let us taste peace
in holy foods forever;
smell peace in wild
baby herbs planted
where unloved weeds grow;
hear and feel it's ode to joy
from the mouth of earth-like angels
as we dare to dance with water hoses."

Your Enchanted Gardener
____
I have a friend, Anthony Zolezzi,
who wrote a fictional account of
a startup business that makes a wholesome
Dog Food. The company, in this book,
"How Dog Food Saved the World" was inspired by
a group of ordinary people who came together
and thought Deep and High about ways
to use their abilities to do something good
for Organic Strawberries and Local Farmers
far and wide. They see the impact of
commercial pesticide filled berries
They know they must take action.
Among Anthony's real time projects
is the Organic Center. The mission
is to bring organic food usage
up from its current 2% to 10% by 2010.
He is also co-creator of the pet food company'
called Pet Promise that help
all pet owners give the best to their animal loved ones.
I am grateful to have offered up Super
Ripe Organic Images of locally grown foods,
Enchanted Gardens, and Farmers' Market life
for use by the Organic Center. This past Spring,
one of my ordinary person projects was taking
the time to get locally grown fresh picked organic
strawberries into our local Whole Foods Market.
Locally grown foods at Whole Foods
Market is now a flourishing idea that has
since caught hold, not only in Hillcrest, but
throughout the chain.
Little Enchanted Garden Projects--
inspired by Whole Beings
this is the kind of activity you and I can do
with our talents.
You and I are the kind of ordinary people Anthony
speaks about in "How Dog Food Saved the World."
We can do extraordinary things for the world right now
through Coming Together as Whole Beings.
Our world feels crippled now to many of us.
Too many of us are behaving as less than Whole Beings.
we are behaving like little pint-size Bushes
when we are intended
to be more than singular garden flowers.
We are intended to, as Emerson said,
to be the "banian of the forest, yielding shade
and fruit to wide neighborhoods..."
Most of us have too many disowned parts,
held down by the heavy load of unrealized growth material
stuck in our Cracks.
A Whole Being works this growth
material, and that is what the Whole Being Weekend
is all about--attending workshops A Whole Being finds the courage
to say these words:
"I awaken.
I see the dark corners of me are where I grow from.
I make them pure fertile soil.
I release my judgement
that darkness is any less perfect than light."
A Whole Being also proclaims
the words:
"I am born to move.
I am born to dance,
I am born to scream out, and scream out joy!...
I am born to liberate new creation."
For me, that is what the upcoming Whole Being Weekend
is all about--the 36th to be held in Southern California.
It has always been about New Creation--and feeling
safe for a Weekend among other people who come
out as Whole Beings to clap for each other and call
each other by our first names.
So here is a question:
If Dog Food can save the Earth,
what can 400-600 Whole Beings do?
More particularly, what can we do
the weekend of September 22-24 2006
to make this a more beautiful world?
"is it possible that when Whole Beings gather
we can come away with new life?"
These are the words from a poem called
"After the Opening." You can read the poem
on the Whole Being Pages--

September 22-24 is a very special time for the world.
Not only is it the official beginning of Fall,
the Vernal Equinox--a time when we quell
the heat of summer--but it is also
the Rosh Hashanah, and the sacred days
of Ramandan. Both Cousins acknowledge
these days as Holy Days.
This year I will be add a ceremonial
focus to the Whole Being Weekend,
sharing Universal Rosh Hashanah themes.
We will gather between 6:30 PM-7:30 PM
on Friday in the chapel at Buckthorn Camp
Idylwild, CA, and again on Saturday morning
around 10 AM to celebrate these themes.
I have often thought that the Rituals associated
with the Jewish New Year were too good just to be
practiced by people who are born in this life Jewish.
The Secular New Year would be enriched
by similar Rituals that
proclaim a New Beginning for Our Lives.
The ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
are called the Days of Awe.
What are some of the Rituals Associated with
The Days of Awe?
We begin the Rosh Hashanah celebrating
The Birthday of the Universe.
Can you imagine the mindset--
that once a year the Universe has a a new Birth Day--
a New Beginning, a Fresh Start?
We are asked as individuals to Reach Deep, Reach High
and Replant our Seeds and Seed Dreams.
How New this New Year can be
is determined by our willingness
to write New Life Scripts for ourselves--
to be Whole Beings in the World.
This is a year when many of us can feel dying around us.
Life has been disregarded. Fragmentation prevails. Many of
us feel drained and wonder if the world still has a solid foundation.
Rather than Compassionate
Non-Violent Communication, some of us imagine we can use
an Economy of War to resolve left over Childhood wounds,
and yet we have it in us to be Whole Beings in the world.
We can say this very moment:
"This is my earth.
This is my place."
The whole world, my whole being
will never be the same.
I look forward to seeing you at
this year's Whole Being Weekend.
