Hilton San Diego Resort Executive Chef Hermann
Schaefer, and I, will receive Honorable Mention
at the 11th Annual Very Important Planet (VIP) Reception
this Thursday night in San Diego.
Here is information about this wonderful evening
event. I would like Chef Hermann to come and will call him
personally. The event begins at 6 PM and the Awards are at 8 PM
Our annual VIP Reception is an evening of celebration, acknowledgment and fun. This event brings together individuals from government, industry and nonprofit organizations, and private citizens – representatives of the diverse elements of the environmental community.
The event starts at 6:00 pm with a Buffet Dinner and Silent Auction. The Awards Program , featuring our E.A.R.T.H. Awards and the City of San Diego Recycling Awards, begins at 8:00pm. The awards will be presented by San Diego City Council member Donna Frye and County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price.

The work we all did to bring locally grown organic food into the HIlton
was a stepping stone for great things we can do to advance the California
Green Lodging Program. I want to applaud the HIlton Hotels for joining
the Green Lodging Program, that occurred August 5, 2005.
This was on the opening day of our International Feng Shui Conference.
I want to express my thanks to the Hilton San Diego Resort
for the tremendous job you all did hosting our International Conference
last August.
I know the Hilton San Diego Resort will continue to be a trendsetting in the
move to bring locally grown San Diego organic produce into menues,
and as offerings at conferences.
Let's work together to continue to open up our vendor system at the
Hilton San Diego Resort to San Diego
locally grown organic suppliers.
