Just lit the second night of Hanukkah candles.
This holiday is about bringing Light in.
I am still recovering from the party we had last night.
I stayed in my pajama's most of the day.
It had an inspired conversation with a couple of housemates
this morning. Ate the last of the pomegranates for the season,
but for a few little ones that will likely be sour.
Last night, I went upstairs to use the bathroom.
The upstairs bathroom at the house is extremely filthy,
I mean really unfilthy, as if it is an uncared for slum.
Four people are using the bathroom
and no one is cleanup up. There is a pile of dust
behind the door so thick. on the toilet back, you can write
your name in the dust it is so thick.
So this holiday has to do with cleansing of the temple.
It is Monday, then Tuesday, Wendesda, Thursday,
Friday, Saturday, Sunday...is the new year's eve.
I feel so low speed, as if doing the laundry, and maybe
working through a few boxes is my speed.
I am not into any heavy duty conversation with
one of the housemates that is on my mind now.
There is a professional woman moving in on the first,
who is a teacher. She is moving in from another city,
so she has not seen the place. She will be living upstairs.
I have to take action.
There are other big things uphead if I look requiring
action.
I am tired. Easy Rider is a choice on TV. It is a downer.
I light the candles entering the darkened room. I feel a bit
better, in the other room, the Christmas lights are on,
that looks pretty too.
Do i need to take action right now?
Can I allow myself to do a few more simple things tonight?
I enjoyed giving the day away to some creativity
and treating this day as a holiday. I did something
that maybe will make a friend feel inspired. Took a nap near
Sunset and awoke after dark.
Bulb burned out in my bedroom--never before has this happened--
and Scott helped me replace it.
Bring me strength to cleanse the temple
and find my practical inspiration and strength
to respond to what feels like the challenges at hand.
Amen

Went upstairs with two microfibre clothes and cleaned
the back of the toilet ledge and the dirty spot behind the door.
Never did that before upstairs. It was empowering.
I take on the necessary communications
to get a rotation going, or hire a pro to come in
and charge the housemates who are responsible for cleaning.
Did some laundry too.
It is cleanup time on all levels, isn't it?
