We reached out to professionals in the industry and compiled a list of procedures that are tipped to trend in 2017. Walk in-walk out procedures have become more common and there is one that got inspired by a Kardashian. Read on to find out which cosmetic procedures are going to dominate 2017.
Dimples are back again
Selfies have become the norm of the day. With the much attention given to social media and the numerous platforms that have popped up, people are taking more photos. Social media apps always emphasize on looking your best on every photograph. People can do this easily by enhancing their smile with a dimple. The procedure is pretty simple as Dr. Spiegel explained. Referred to as dimplectomy, is scarless and just takes an incision in the cheek.
Breast augmentation is here to stay
Breast enlargement is still one of those cosmetic procedures that most women go for. Statistics show that 286,200 women had breast enlargement done last year. The procedure doesn’t seem about to fade any time soon, mostly because it caters for a region in the woman’s body that is considered an asset by pop culture. If anything, the procedure has been followed by another that also focuses on breast enhancement. However, the augmentation sizes have reduced since a few years ago. The average size now, 250-300cc is much smaller from what most women would go for several years back.
Smaller nipples
There has been a 30% rise in women who want smaller nipples. The wave of women seeking smaller nipples has come from the wellness movement. Fitness and staying shredded have become a big thing with celebrities on the fore front showing that an athletic body is the way to go. Smaller nipples also contribute to the natural look that most women are going for nowadays.
Brazilian butts are going nowhere
Women are inspired by stars like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian to go for a more voluptuous back side. The procedure, known as the Brazilian Butt Lift, originated from Brazil and was made popular by celebrities, but that was a long time ago. Now, most women are getting the procedure that involves body contouring, liposuction and buttock augmentation to give the woman a bigger butt. The procedure is on such demand that there is a 500% increase in the number of women who want it done.
Liposuction for men is coming of age
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons shows that more men are going for breast reduction surgery. The procedure, known as gynecomastia, has gained popularity also due to the fitness movement sparked by the social media and fitness blogging. A 14% rise in men who have undergone the procedure was recorded between 2013 and 2014. The procedure is meant to bolster work from the gym for people who have trouble shedding of extra fat. Abdominal fat is usually very difficult for most people to shed simply through dieting and exercise. It has been shown to be a success and according to Dr Joseph Ajaka reviews, it is totally safe.
In 2017, the aesthetic surgery industry is set to grow even larger. In Europe and North America, plastic surgery is expected to keep growing in demand. One of the major reasons is acceptance of the procedures in the social fabric.
