The construction age is estimated from the end of the fourth century to the beginning of the fifth.
It is the biggest ancient Japanese tomb of a circular shape with a rectangular frontage in Hyogo Prefecture.
The tumulus is a keyhole-shaped mound of the three-step construction which turned the front portion to southwest.
The tumulus is 194 m in full length, and height of the front portion is 11.5 m and the back circle part is 18 m.
It is covered with stones covering the surface of the tumulus.
The total number of the stones covering the surface of the tumulus is 2.23 million units by the total weight of 2,784 tons.
