The "Word of the Year"
Modern life can be so complicated - thank God we have "The Word of the Year"!

"The word complicit sprung up in conversations in 2017 about those who spoke out against powerful figures and institutions and about those who stayed silent. It was a year of real awakening to complicity in various sectors of society, from politics to pop culture.
Our choice for Word of the Year is as much about what is visible as it is about what is not. It’s a word that reminds us that even inaction is a type of action. The silent acceptance of wrongdoing is how we’ve gotten to this point. We must not let this continue to be the norm. If we do, then we are all complicit." [4]

My professor friend just told me the "word of the year" for 2016 was 'surreal'! I understand that! I responded saying I think of Alice in Wonderland! (I also said I wonder if there's a recapitulation of 1967 associated with this "word of the year" now.)
Also "the Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year 2016 is post-truth".[1] I actually found this one first and then found "surreal"[2]
Since we have the 'surreal' in mind - this would make for a natural segue to a Relating Exercise Dyad that I'd like to advocate now. The dyad instruction is: "Tell me what reality is." of course you'll need a dyad partner to do this however I have also received benefit from a corresponding contemplation where I ask myself: "What is real?" I often say this as a kind of affirmation - intending to affirm "what Is real"! In my most recent affirming/contemplation the thought of "love" and also "real love" came into my awareness. Continuing with this contemplation I noted the above plus: "Real Self Love"! Finally I noted to blog this (which I'm doing here now) plus "what is real?" at my "Enchanted Garden Onion" blog. That seemed like the perfect place to "ask" this last question.
On July 8, 2013 I included the above relating exercise dyad as one of my
"Thirteen more ... favorite Dyads"[3]
