Two Kinds of Animal Products
Important distinctions in animal products
Date: 7/21/2015 1:23:26 AM ( 10 y ) ... viewed 1407 times There are many opinions that have been expressed on the subject of animal products and many of those are spoken in general terms by grouping all animal products together as if they are the same. They are not the same. There two very different kinds of animal products.
The first and longest standing kind of animal products come from animal that are either completely wild or that are raised in natural environments where they feed on a diet that is most compatible with the diet that they could possibly have in the wild.
The second type of animal products come from animals that are raised most largely in confinement on diets that are convenient and especially most economical for the producer. Consequently the producers have resorted to unimaginable stretches for what they call animal feed; most all of which are things that an animal in the wild would never encounter!
"An animal living on open pasture enjoying its natural diet will have a vastly different nutritional profile than one living in confinement eating corn and soy."[1]

A friend (who now has a new teaching position) gave me the following reply the other day to my inquiry: "Does your school include food in any way, shape or form?":
"They have food like substances, I think that is a big entrance point to help heal the minds/guts of these children."
Animal products from "open pasture" sources could go a very long way toward the healing that many school children need. Raw milk for children in States where raw milk is sold without consequences [4] and non-homogenized milk that has not been "ultra-pasteurized" in the other states where the sale of raw milk was prohibited. Ideally the later milk could be made more beneficial with the addition of yogurt or kefir cultures in the pasteurized milk.
