Shaman's Dream detail (c)mayah 2014
The photos are all glued onto cardboard then slightly curved outwards and just the edges glued down on the background so that the human and animal figures are sticking out in "3-D", although this is hard to see from the photos. The background is made from left-over acrylic paint on paper from a family member's art project; the paper was cut and woven together; the colors represent the Earth: oranges, reds, browns, water blues, and an occasional purple hue.
"Eco Art by mayah" utilizes recycled and earth-friendlier materials. "Shaman's Dream" is made from reused cardboard, magazine and junk mail photos; found feathers, twig, seed pod, and fresh water pebbles from Lake Erie from a vacation trip taken many years ago. Non-VOC glues and acrylic glaze.
